Great gesture! I only cincerely hope her donation ends up by the children and not in the pockets of the billionaire Hamas leaders or is used for weapons. 🙏🏽
After thorough analysis I realised that there are two basic and fundamental structural defects in the constitution of UN which are
1. Veto Power System for the permanent members of the security council of UN. Since there is a body of all stakeholders in the form of General Assembly wherein all member- countries of the UN are represented there is absolutely no need of Security Council to accept or reject the resolutions passed by General Assembly. As such Security Council should be dissolved forthwith.
2. All member countries of UN are not signatory to the Rome statute consequently some countries are not under the International Criminal Court (ICC) whereas all the member countries have to be under the jurisdiction of ICC so that peace prevails in the world.
. Due to these defects America has made a mockery of the UN as it is reduced to a puppet in the hands of the America. Consequently America with some allies have invaded several Muslim countries like Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya and looted these countries then leaving these countries after the loot is complete. Presently America with the help of Israel (both countries are not under the jurisdiction of ICC) is demolishing, doing cold blooded mass murders, devastation, destruction , displacement, ethenic cleansing, murder especially of children and women and genocide and the whole world including the UN have to be mute spectators of all this and nobody has the powers to question them because of these defects in the constitution of UN.
More than seven decades have passed by but the above-mentioned defects in the constitution of UN were not rectified. Non-rectification of these defects has created a very grave situation as instead of peace maintaining organisation UN became a weapon of blackmailing and means of invading and looting the rich countries by some countries which were having the veto power also besides these countries were not signatory to the Rome statute consequently these countries were not under the jurisdiction of ICC. As the result these countries became law per se and virtually became terrorist countries of the world because they were not answerable to any forum for whatever they do. Now the climax of lawlessness has reached in Palestine where total devastation, destruction, cold blooded mass murders, genocide, ethenic cleansing, kidnapping and rape of innocent and unarmed civilians is being done and the whole world including UN have to be mute spectators because of the basic and fundamental defects in the constitution of UN have not been rectified. This is the highest time these defects are rectified by the General Assembly. Let General Assembly wake up after decades of slumber and rectify the defects as proposed above.

On September 30, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, take time to learn about the stories of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples and the history and ongoing legacy of Indian Residential Schools in Canada.
There are many ways to engage with this day, including:
1. Wear an orange shirt and support the grassroots campaign founded by residential school survivor Phyllis Webstad. The shirt in the photo was designed by Gitxsan artist Michelle Stoney, who donates a portion of the proceeds back to her community and local survivors. You can find her work here.
2. Read the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action.
3. Educate yourself on the history of Indigenous peoples in Canada.
4. Attend a local ceremony or gathering organized by Indigenous peoples.
5. Know whose land you reside on and how you can support their local communities and survivors (visit native-land.ca).

It's Friday, so let's give this a go!! 🤞
Every day I get a lot of messages from people on LinkedIn trying to sell me something (masked as networking, but essentially people are looking to sell something, which is fair enough).
I ignore most of them, I have to, I simply don't have time to read and reply to all of the unsolicited LinkedIn messages and emails. Occasionally one may hit at the right time and resonate so I do engage, but in general they go unread.
But it's Friday and I'm feeling daring so here's the deal... 😲
I've got a marathon coming up in 9 sleeps - the Limassol marathon in Cyprus. I'm using this huge challenge to raise money for a wonderful charity called Julia's House Children's Hospices
I like to engage with people that share similar values to me... so if you REALLY want me to reply to your messages I will. All you need to do it click the link below and donate a little on my JustGiving page. Then let me know and I'll say hi!

(Note: I will reply to you, but I will do so honestly. So if the product/service is no interest at this time I'll let you know)

What we in Finance/Trading/Investing can do for ISRAEL & its VICTIMS:
We should all reach out to our trading counterparties and corporate relationships to encourage them (ask nicely) to support Israel both Financially and Verbally and in a public way. I was inspired by Rich Handler/Jefferies Leadership in this matter. I have had a good dialogue with the charitable arms at Cantor Fitzgerald and Seaport both of whom are working on something that we will soon see. I have had less success with my contacts at the bulge bracket firms, but MS has done something. If we all reach out to the firms with whom we are most engaged I believe this can snowball into action. This is a humanitarian cause and the funds can be donated to Hospitals and Search/Rescue. If you trade with Seaport/Cantor DM me and I will let you know whom to reach out to and thank them as they are working on something. If you need a draft letter, I have one that I can provide as well.
Let's stop perpetuating narratives of:
❌ Westerners as the only ones who can 'save' people
❌ People as helpless victims
❌ 'Them' vs. 'us'
❌ Stereotypes (e.g. 'Africans are dying')*
Sure, Ed Sheeran and Tom Hardy's hearts were in the right place.
And these kinds of appeals are successful in raising money. (The DEC’s East Africa appeal raised £60m!)
But is it enough to raise lots of money - at that cost? Or do the stereotypes create more problems than they solve?
Campaigns like the War Child Batman ad show that it's possible to be evocative without:
👉 Playing on guilt
👉 Representing subjects as pitiful and hopeless
*ALL development organisations - no matter your size - have a responsibility to challenge these narratives.

One scoring criteria that stood out to me in this competition was “Moral Wisdom” defined as:
- Appropriate level of empathy for partner’s interests; honest and transparent approach toward disclosing and withholding information
- Some empathy for partner’s interests; avoiding commission but occasionally accepting omissions
- Little empathy for partner’s interests; outright deceptive behavior
Moral wisdom, I would like to believe, goes beyond over the table assurances and lip service, and demonstrated more by a consistent track record of personal integrity and corporate deliverables.
It was a tough scoring criteria for me.

The number 38 represents the 38% rise in reported domestic abuse cases when England's men’s football team loses a major tournament. Reported cases increase by 38% when England lose and by 26% when they play—a statistic unchanged for a decade. Most domestic abuse cases in the UK go unreported.
