I love hearing when I’ve #addedvalue to someone’s day and in turn the business and their job! Too often in recruitment advertising the simple metrics are there to see Job views Applications Hires A lot of the time, these are the only things we get measured on as a “return on investment” because it’s what we can see 👀 But when you get a 1:35 second voicenote from Laura Rose at the National Trust with how valuable the networking group I provide has been and how just yesterday she had an incredible conversation with Sam Goode from Nando's UK & IRE around all things ED&I that really helped her get to grips with how to tackle the tasks ahead. 🛠Here are a few things that I'm constantly trying to improve on:🛠 1. Being confident in sales 2. Being confident in sales 3. BEING CONFIDENT IN SALES! 😉 Ok, there ARE other things, but this side of my job has always been a bit daunting. I mean...who actually likes cold calls? (Message me you like them, I want to check and see if you are a real person) 👻 🎇 However, seeing new perspectives and listening to advice from super smart people constantly makes my life easier. They remind me that as a consultant, I can provide a perspective of the market that's unique to the group of incredibly smart people I recruit and talk to daily. 🎆 👏 Today, I had the chance and pleasure to attend the Sourcr sponsored Recruitment Bootcamp session with Abbie White, and it was FABULOUS! Recently I was asked “ why do you spend time talking to and being friends with competitors” Competitors have opportunities that aren’t a fit for their company. I generated 26 opportunities for my team this year that came as direct referrals from my competition Competitors go through career changes. 3 have become referral partners this year Competitors know people looking for new opportunities. One of my top reps was referred to me by a competitor Competitors don’t have to be your enemy, they can be your friends. Walking away from a deal because a competitor is a better fit for your prospect is the epitome of being a consultant, not a salesperson.
