Best thing about the Alternative Events is the Samoan circle. This should be standard practice in all companies.

Highly patriotic post incoming 🇿🇦 A couple of weeks ago, I was blessed to spend some vacation time travelling in the USA with my wife (hence some much-needed LinkedIn radio silence). The thing about travelling as a South African that gets me every time is, whenever you tell people that you’re from South Africa the reaction is overwhelmingly positive. Sometimes it’s a sense of wonder (“South Africa…that’s crazy!”) but most times its warmth and familiarity (In Las Vegas, a complete stranger (a local) even shook my hand and hugged me after learning I was South African 😂). I also think of the inspiring way Siya Kolisi and the Springboks are representing South Africa at the World Cup not just by their on-pitch performances, but by their humility, determination and grace off the field and it makes me wonder… As a country, do we not have a self-image problem rather than a branding problem? If we thought of ourselves the way the rest of the world sees us, how much more could we accomplish? I once asked a founder of a prominent tech startup in Cape Town whether he felt any insecurity about representing a South African startup trying to build a global business. He knew exactly what I meant by the question and his response has stuck with me: Our people are just as good, our training and skills are just as good and the tech we’re building is just as good as anywhere in the world. Now, being part of a South African-based tech company that’s building a global business, I’m confronted by that question daily and this answer^ is validated every day. Sure, things are more difficult for us in South Africa with all of our well-documented problems. But as the Springboks keep showing us - we like a challenge, we never give up and winning by 1 point is still winning. After all, we’re South African not South African’t. Here’s a gratuitous picture of me at the Grand Canyon on my recent trip contemplating the meaning of life (for Instagram, obviously).

I'm thrilled to share that I've been selected to participate in the prestigious Better Understanding of the Better World Conference (BUBW)! 🌍 It's an honor to have my dedication and achievements recognized among so many outstanding applicants. The conference, planned for May 29-31, promises to be an incredible opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions about global issues. However, I need your support! While BUBW will cover visa fees, accommodation, meals, and local transportation, I'm seeking sponsors to help cover my roundtrip travel expenses from Pakistan to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. ✈️ As an emerging content creator passionate about making a positive impact, attending this conference is a dream come true. If you or your company are interested in sponsoring my ticket, please reach out to me via DM or email at mishi3016@gmail.com Together, let's make this journey to BUBW possible and contribute to building a better world! 🌟 #BUBWConference #SponsorshipOpportunity #GlobalChangeMaker #BUBW #YESALUMNA #YES #USA #Pakistan #Bishkek #CFBR
