How paternity leave is helping ladies have an effective profession! Organizations have fostered their ever-evolving drives. While state-of-the-art organizations like Meesho, Twilio, Flipkart, Razorpay, and OkCredit are driving the manner in which they furnish new dads with stretched-out downtime —as long as 30 weeks all at once —the pattern is spreading across enterprises. Such moderate contemplations are assisting ladies with adjusting their own proficient lives. All kinds of people should deal with their infant kids. There is not a great explanation for why ladies ought to think twice about creating vocations to deal with their families. So, Zomato's decided to offer kurtas as an option for their female delivery partners, recently. And as you'd expect, the internet has opinions. Some folks love it, some think it's not enough. Honestly, I have mixed feelings too. India is a huge country, and what feels comfortable for one woman might not work for another. We all come from different backgrounds, with different ideas of what's appropriate, what's safe. It's easy to forget that when we're sitting behind our screens. This kurta thing isn't about saying everyone should wear one. It's about giving women a choice. See, real equality isn't always about everyone getting the exact same thing. Sometimes, it's about giving people the options they need to feel good and do their best work. Of course, this doesn't fix everything. We need to have a way bigger conversation about how we treat women, how we make them feel safe – in the workplace and everywhere else. Zomato can't solve that alone. But maybe this can be a starting point. Let's talk about the real, everyday stuff companies can do to make a difference: ⏩ Could flexible work options help more women stay in their jobs? ⏩ Do we need better mentorship programs for women, so they get the support they deserve? ⏩ What does it *really* mean to have zero tolerance for harassment in the workplace? Zomato's move might be small, but it got us talking. Instead of just arguing, let's use this to think about what we can do, in our own companies, and our own lives, to truly build a better workplace for women. What do you guys think? When COVID-19 hit India, many tried to save their jobs amidst the nationwide layoffs, but not Vineet Saraiwala, who quit his high paying job at Future Group and launched a startup to create livelihoods for persons with disabilities   Vineet was very young when he started losing his eyesight.  Gradually, the visibility reduced to just 10% of the vision, and thus, he was introduced to various sufferings in his life.   What came to his rescue was the education he could get while studying in educational institutes like IIM Bengaluru, which helped him land a good corporate job later.   But Vineet Saraiwala was aware that not all persons with disabilities can sustain themselves and started Atypical Advantage.   Since 2020, Atypical Advantage has been pioneering in helping more than 15000 candidates by providing employment opportunities. The platform acts as a mediator for people with disabilities who can search the jobs through the corporates posted on the platform.   Along with the permanent roles, various freelance opportunities are available for the people that can be availed through the platform.   Despite the challenges, Vineet Saraiwala has been confident enough to carry his initiative and help the disabled. Keeping the same in mind, he pitched his initiative in front of the sharks on Shark Tank India Season 2   Not only did the Sharks like the initiative of Saraiwala and morally back him, but Namita Thapar and Aman Gupta also offered Rs. 30 lacs with Rs. 15 lacs each for 3% of equity, which Saraiwala accepted.   Meeting Vineet is like a fan boy moment for me Because I absolutely love how he is transforming lives   Let’s create an inclusive Bharat together :) P.S I know Parmesh Shahani is there in the picture but he is getting a separate post :) #asksumit #dei #diversityandinclusion #disabilityinclusion #equality

Flipkart Foundation and Give Foundation have partnered with Pinkishe Foundation, a non-profit organisation working towards improving the lives of women and girls in India, to spread awareness about menstrual health and hygiene. The collaborative initiative, known as 'Project Udaan,' aims to address challenges faced by girls and women from marginalized communities, particularly in rural areas. The project seeks to promote reproductive health and behavioral practices by providing essential information and eco-friendly period products. Project Udaan will be implemented across multiple locations in four states, including Gandhinagar and Mehsana in Gujarat, Gurugram in Haryana, Bengaluru in Karnataka, and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. The collaboration aims to empower adolescent girls and dismantle the taboo around periods. Alongside promoting appropriate menstrual health practices, the project seeks to foster dignity and confidence among young girls and women. Commenting on the partnership, Puja Trisal, Director, Flipkart Foundation, "We believe that empowerment begins with knowledge and access. With the launch of 'Project Udaan,'in partnership with the Pinkishe Foundation, we are taking a significant step towards uplifting, educating, and empowering young girls and women in rural and underprivileged communities. I had a dream that one day, I will be the torchbearer of the change that I would want to see. A world without bias and discrimination, a world where everyone is equal. A world where meritocracy prevails, equality shines, people are inherently motivated to work and hesitant towards freebies. It is a world where people are valued for their value system, not their materialistic possessions. A world where people are at the core of everything, not money, technology, power, but people. A world where people love to go to work for there lies their passion. A workplace is where people feel valued, and there is value addition to more people because of the work being performed. I chose the #HumanResources profession to make this happen. And to make all of this happen, the seed and the source came from one man's idea that hit me hard and stayed with me ever since. I shall strive to be a man of value rather than a man of success all my life, for my dream depends on it. This is the idea that empowered me and helped me embark on my passion with resilience. We need to consider married women as employed individuals because they do a lot of unpaid but productive work. Today, my mother got sick and I had to do a lot of housework, which took up a significant amount of my time and decreased my productivity at Work. Productivity directly affects earnings. For example, if I order food from Zomato, it saves me time but I have to pay for it, making it a cost-effective choice. Every day, my mother saves me a lot of time, and money and increases my productivity, for which she never gets paid. Many women in households do a lot of unrecognized housework, with very low job satisfaction and no recognition. They face overloads during festivals or occasions, with no concept of taking a half-day leave. It's hard to do this repetitive job with very little job satisfaction. In India, most households have homemade cooking and cleaning, but some tasks cannot be ignored. Therefore, it's our duty to give them a break by taking them on vacation or to a restaurant, allowing them to take a break from cooking and washing dishes. This would be a way to show our respect, love, and attention to these talented individuals who silently labour in a professional manner. Happy Woman's Day - Every day is a woman's day
