Today's Topic: Be Someplace That Values You I started at Traeger back in April 2023 and it has already been a fantastic journey! The culture is amazing, the extracurricular activities are off the charts, my team is awesome, the extended support system is second to none and the "team of teams" concept of cross-collaborative partnership that FREELY SHARES information with each other is alive and well. I haven't even mentioned the work itself - we make a product that, when done correctly, not only produces amazing food but more importantly brings friends and family together! Part of my experience here is also related to recognition - and the lack thereof with other jobs that I've had recently. Every Monday we have an all-hands meeting either in-person or virtually and during these events teammates are recognized in a program called Value Our Values. A teammate is related to one of the Traeger Core Values and it's explained why & how what they do here at Traeger meets that value. The only way to be eligible for this honor is to be recommended by their peers. I was so fortunate 4 weeks ago to be honored at one of these meetings where my teammate's kind words about me were read aloud in front of 800+ employees. The amazing part about this is that I JUST started in April - yet my teammates immediately recognized my value and more importantly the impact that I am having in the very short time I've been here. TO BE CLEAR, this is NOT a "HEY, LOOK AT ME!" moment; my point here is BE SOMEPLACE THAT TRULY VALUES YOU AND THEN RECOGNIZES YOU FOR THE HIGH QUALITY WORK THAT YOU DO. I cannot say that I've always felt this way even at my recent jobs - even though I did epic quality work, instead of being recognized for that I was beaten down for not meeting unconveyed expectations and unrealistically held to tasks that weren't able to be done in the given timeframes. These kinds of things damage morale and relationships as well as erode the confidence of the person subjected to it. When I came to Traeger I attacked my tasks with the same fervor and passion that I have applied at all my other jobs but here I was acknowledged for the work I've put in, and what's amazing is that it was recognized in such a short amount of time. So what is the difference, you say? Recognition is woven into the culture and the very fabric of Traeger because being seen for the work you sweat, bleed and cry for should be and needs to be applauded. Find your place where you are appreciated, never stop working hard toward the goals you've set both personally and professionally and the accolades will follow because we ALL deserve to be recognized for the work we do! It’s hard to believe it’s almost been a year since I started this amazing job back in June. Initially, taking the leap was nerve-wracking, considering the distance from my hometown, family, and friends. Yet, it’s undoubtedly been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’ve been fortunate to join a team with exceptional leadership and an unwavering commitment to excellence and I’m thankful Tommy Wood and Jarrett Darmstatter took a chance on me. I’ve always enjoyed challenging myself with trying to become comfortable with the uncomfortable or the “Grind” as many as my former college wrestling teammates would refer to it. The knowledge and skills I’ve acquired have surpassed my expectations, from basic operating room protocols to detailed product features. I recall when I was first diving into this role, my main worries revolved around the longest screw in our caddies and figuring out which color coordinated with each size. What excites me most is the continual opportunity for growth and learning. There’s still much ground to cover, from developing existing relationships to expanding my expertise in surgical procedures and product knowledge. Hustle and patience are key in this field, traits I’ve come to value deeply. I’m truly thankful for the opportunity to engage in this role daily, striving for personal growth while delivering top-notch services to our customers. I couldn’t imagine embarking on this journey with anyone other than Jarrett Darmstatter, Sione Tupou, and Brendan Keady. Within the community of Smith+Nephew’s culture, there’s a prevailing notion: pressure is a privilege. I’m confident that my team and I not only embrace but embody this pressure, driving us towards excellence. While my career has just begun there are three key takeaways I have found to be some of the most important so far. 1.) The importance of surrounding oneself with a supportive team and network. 2.) Treat others how you would want to be treated…being respectful and considerate goes a long way. 3.) Developing resilience and learning to take constructive criticism in stride are essential for personal and professional growth. It’s all part of the journey towards success in this dynamic industry.

𝗟𝗲𝘁'𝘀 𝗴𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸... Just want to share one of my favourite moments from our sales meeting. We did a workshop and grouped in different teams. With our team, we took an unconventional way and went outdoors for a walk 🚶♂️🍃. We used this time to reflect deeply on enhancing our client and prospect experiences. With representatives from varied roles joining the conversation, it was an eye-opener to witness the richness that each perspective brought to the table. It's a reminder that diversity of thought isn't just a buzzword; it's the cornerstone of innovation and improvement. Our dedication to feedback, learning, and personal development isn’t just a sentence in our mission statement – it's at the very heart of our team's values and is evident in all we do. I'm grateful and proud to be part of such a dynamic team that never rests. Together, we've reached significant milestones, and our journey towards betterment is unending. I realised today, that this week marks 40 years that I've been working, at first I thought bloody hell that's not possible, but then it made stop and reflect on my working life. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunities I've had. A huge thank you to Chris Kidger, the owner of Friday-Ad, for entrusting me with significant responsibilities at a young age and allowing me the space to learn from my mistakes. I'd also like to acknowledge Andy Woolgar, who gave me brutal, but honest feedback when I first stepped into a managerial role. His advice reshaped my perspective on how to manage, and I've been better for it ever since. My time at Friday-Ad was both challenging and rewarding. Without a set playbook, we thrived on disruption, always leveraging emerging technology to gain a competitive edge. I worked with loads of great people there, too many to mention but Nick Taylor stands out. I've been fortunate to work and travel abroad, but the experience was made by the people I've met like Felix Erken, Gerald Coniel, Katja Riefler, Eugen Russ, and Josef Kogler to name but a few. For a while I envisioned a future working solely for myself, my three-year stint at Motorsport Network proved otherwise. Being part of a team again was refreshing, and I learned so much while working alongside some fantastic colleagues. Even in the most challenging circumstances work can and should be fun. This experience also paved the way for opportunities in the sports sector, which has been a game-changer. I can imagine a lot of people reading this would be questioning my relevance after 40 years and thinking that I'm way past my sell by date, but I remain passionate about embracing new technologies, understanding business challenges, and devising solutions to address them. If I were to offer any career advice, it would be this: Stay curious. Always question why things are done a certain way and consider how they can be improved. Continuously look for opportunities to address the problems of your customers and colleagues. #FourDecadesStrong #staycurious
