“I think the important thing for manufacturing leaders is to find the appropriate balance between innovation and hype. There is so much hype around these days.” It might be tempting to jump headfirst into new innovations, especially when robots are involved. But don’t get caught up in the hype, says Ryan Gariepy, CTO of Clearpath Robotics by Rockwell Automation & OTTO Motors. Ryan joined Episode 181 of the podcast to explore the best ways of integrating robotics in the workplace, plus much more. Last week, our CEO Pavlo Pikulin posted about one of the biggest concerns in the warehouse leader community. Here it is. 👉 What if warehouse automation won’t be as effective as people say? Pavlo commented: "It feels risky to roll out automation if you have only one or two warehouses. If things go wrong, it can affect your whole business. So, this is a legitimate concern. But, with modern technology, you can look into how things will turn out before changing anything in real life. Robotics companies should be able to create a digital twin of your warehouse and show you how your robots will work in many scenarios. All without risking your real-life business. You’ll be safe to try new things." So happy to see Kevin Lawton, CLTD, the awesome host of The New Warehouse podcast, share this point of view! #warehouseoperations

For 2+ years I have been having this conversation: Many folks realize the benefits of robotics, but don’t know how to get started. So, here’s a look at how to get started… This week Justin Montes and Rob Goldiez discuss, in detail, how DeAngelo Marine Exhaust Inc. went about investing in robotics and buying their first cobot. Here’s a link to the podcast: https://lnkd.in/gMxcgrmk We discuss the process, the doubts, the people, and the results. Thanks to cobots, they’ve increased their capacity, and have more welders and fabricators than ever (and people are getting promoted into new roles). Personally, I feel this is one of the most pragmatic episodes we’ve recorded. What are your thoughts? Do you have a case study of your own to share? Hit us with those in the comments. #robotics #automation A3 - Association for Advancing Automation
