For the Rose International Team, furthering #diversity, equity and inclusion is a pillar for our overall operations. A few years ago, we launched RISE (Rose Impacting Social Equality), an initiative aimed at advancing racial #equity across the country to help communities of color overcome societal barriers. Watch the video below to learn more about RISE: https://lnkd.in/gZYeUMKt The #RoseInt Team and I look forward to continuing to making it happen from our standing in the minority community.

At WI-HER, practicing equality means that we implement programs that provide the same access to quality resources, opportunities, and support for all participants, regardless of gender, age, or social background. Tailoring solutions is at the heart of how WI-HER practices equity. We use innovative, participatory methodologies like our iDARE methodology to advance locally-led solutions to ensure our programs meet the unique needs of different groups. Advocacy and policy change are key to how WI-HER practices social justice. We tackle the systemic barriers that prevent true inclusion and equality and strive for a world where everyone's voice is heard and valued. Our Partnership & Outreach Working Group Contact Point Najma llma represented us at the UN Civil Society Organization. According to her experience in the Day 1 outcome of the event: It was a privilege to attend the United Nation civil society conference today on 9th May. The day has indeed been productive and fascinating seeing various SDGs being addressed and what we look forward to in regards to the summit of the future. SDGs 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 5 (Gender Equality), and 13 (Climate Action) are vital pillars for global sustainability. While extensively discussed and supported, the gap between rhetoric and action remains disheartening. Continuous dialogue is essential, but action is paramount for real change. The frustration with the lack of tangible results is understandable. It’s imperative to bridge this gap by fostering collaboration, implementing effective policies, and holding stakeholders accountable. Only by translating words into meaningful actions can we truly make progress toward achieving these critical sustainable development goals.

I virtually participated in APFSD Youth Forum 2024. The forum involved comprehensive review of sustainable development progress in the Asia-Pacific region. Likewise, it focused on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs, notably SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Health and Well-being), and SDG 5 (Gender Equality) SDG13 (Climate Action), SDG16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals) marking a role for formulating the Regional Youth Call-to-Action alongside the Country Youth Call-To-Actions.
