Nuformix Plc (LSE:NFX), the pharmaceutical company, lifted over 6% in early Monday trading after receiving patent approval from Japanese authorities for NXP002, its lead asset and a potential novel treatment. Issuing a grant notice for the treatment entitled "crystalline tranilast salts and their pharmaceutical use”, the London-listed firm said the patent covers the inhalation of the new tranilast drug. Word of the day is.... "Evergreening" ⬇️ Evergreening is an industry practice where a pharmaceutical company extends the patent life of a drug by making minor modifications to the drug itself or to the delivery device used for administering the medication. As an example, Novo Nordisk has secured 25 patents for Ozempic 💉, but only 4 of them are directly related to the drug itself. The remaining 21 patents focus on the design and functionality of the injectable pen used to administer the medication. 😠 https://lnkd.in/gxBS6gt7
