The import demand for US LPG has been dampened by the petrochemical industry's slow performance and a mild winter. This, along with expectations of increased supply, suggests a bearish outlook for 2024. 🇺🇸 In 2024, China plans to increase its propane dehydrogenation (PDH) capacity by 4.8 million tons per year with the addition of seven new units. 🇨🇳 Since November, the implementation of restrictions in Panama has led to a significant increase in VLGC rates. Despite initial assumptions, disruptions in long-haul LPG trade and tensions in the Middle East could have an intermittent impact. 📢 China's June #LPG imports remain high on growing butane demand China's #LPGimports sustained at a high level in June 2023, boosted by strong butane imports due to demand recovery. The country imported 3.30 million tonnes of LPG, including both #propane and #butane, which fell merely 0.53% month on month while rose 33.71% from a year ago, data from the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) showed. Falling imported #LPGprices, recovering #PDHplants' operating rates and improving butane demand from the residential sector on rising temperature all contributed to high imports. Data from OilChem showed that China's PDH plants operated at an average run rate of 80% in June, an increase of 5 percentage points compared to May. 🔗 Detail: https://lnkd.in/gZYkNimD #LPGtrading #lpgmarket #asia #gas #oilgas #naturalgas
