🇦🇺 🇬🇧 Australia is one of the UK’s closest international partners, and while we may be separated geographically, our interests and values are united 🤝. We were delighted to welcome the Australian Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chief of Defence Force, Warrant Officer Ken R., along with Chief Petty Officer Raelene Henery of the Royal Australian Navy to the United Kingdom. 🌍 At our Northwood Headquarters, the Permanent Joint Headquarters updated on current global operations, and there were discussions on our work in the cyber and electromagnetic domain. 🏫 This was followed by a visit to the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom to discuss both nations’ military educational offer, including to Senior Enlisted Leaders, and how we can better share expertise and ideas. Partnering with the The Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub, we have kicked off our STEM and Digital Bursary in Lancashire. This exciting initiative for 16-18 year olds will help create a digital and cyber workforce fit for the future. 💻 The first cohort of 100 students will have access to a broad range of mentoring and development opportunities, including digital learning, as well as financial support and a high-performance laptop. 👥 At the kick-off event in Blackburn, the students heard more about cyber careers, met experts from across government and industry, and took part in a code-cracking challenge and a cyber escape room. Our Defence Experimentation and Wargaming Hub brings together expertise and technology to help us prepare for an increasingly complex security environment. 2wHow about the dues owed to ex time served combatants of all ages sleeping rough at the moment, no different to those who had begged on the streets some limbless following WW2 I’m advised in all wars prior to this? These chaps are on the bottom of the list for council accommodation, when RN Haslar was given away for an undisclosed sum wasn’t there some sort of provision factored in for ex service personnel ? Portsmouth’s Kingston Prison also given away for an undisclosed sum would with its individual cells complete with beds & linen, shower, kitchen facilities been ideal ? The homeless had to be moved out for D Day memorial, these guys without a residential address have unlike illegal immigrants on full board have no chance of applying for work. Some with PTSD have no support will the MOD step up and repay the forces covenant please ?
