🤝 We were delighted to welcome Minister for the Armed Forces, Luke Pollard MP, to our Northwood HQ. 🌍 The Minister was briefed on current operations across the globe, and met with military and civilian personnel from Strategic Command who work around the clock to protect the nation. 🇬🇧

🇦🇺 🇬🇧 Australia is one of the UK’s closest international partners, and while we may be separated geographically, our interests and values are united 🤝.   We were delighted to welcome the Australian Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chief of Defence Force, Warrant Officer Ken R., along with Chief Petty Officer Raelene Henery of the Royal Australian Navy to the United Kingdom. 🌍 At our Northwood Headquarters, the Permanent Joint Headquarters updated on current global operations, and there were discussions on our work in the cyber and electromagnetic domain.  🏫 This was followed by a visit to the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom to discuss both nations’ military educational offer, including to Senior Enlisted Leaders, and how we can better share expertise and ideas.  Read more about the visit ➡️ https://lnkd.in/djvgY4wg Defence Australia

Partnering with the The Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub, we have kicked off our STEM and Digital Bursary in Lancashire. This exciting initiative for 16-18 year olds will help create a digital and cyber workforce fit for the future.  💻 The first cohort of 100 students will have access to a broad range of mentoring and development opportunities, including digital learning, as well as financial support and a high-performance laptop. 👥 At the kick-off event in Blackburn, the students heard more about cyber careers, met experts from across government and industry, and took part in a code-cracking challenge and a cyber escape room. Wargaming helps us better understand complex problems and improves our ability to make evidence-based decisions faster. Our Defence Experimentation and Wargaming Hub brings together expertise and technology to help us prepare for an increasingly complex security environment. Through simulated scenarios and tabletop exercises, we can explore possible future scenarios, assess the effectiveness of different courses of action, and anticipate emerging threats, all while improving our decision-making ability. 📽️ Find out more about the Defence Experimentation and Wargaming Hub 👇
