A handful of very basic schematic drawings, artist impressions that bear almost no resemblance to the actual Albury site; and a summary that parrots previously released project outlines does not constitute a master plan. ·     There is no indication of the size of the new clinical services building to get an understanding of how many beds it will deliver. ·     How many levels will the new multi-level car park be; what engineering will be required; and how will the elderly or disabled gain access? ·     The indication of future expansion means demolition of much of existing infrastructure except for the cancer centre. How long do we deliver healthcare in a construction zone, and where’s the extra parking for this expansion? ·     Future expansion removes just about all green space on the site, despite the artist impressions which show otherwise. ·     The main public entrance for the hospital is now from Keene St, a small side street that is not a major thoroughfare. NSW Health Infrastructure has been working on this for close to 11 months. It is unbelievable that more than $2 million has already been spent to deliver such a poor outcome that provides our community with so little confidence in the viability of this project.

We are pleased to announce a significant step towards a brighter future for healthcare in Comune di Caserta! The construction works for the New Hospital Complex has officially begun: the goal is to build a state-of-the-art facility that will serve the most advanced medical needs of the community. 3TI Progetti, together with Eng. Giuseppe Coppola, is in charge of Works Supervision. Located in the buildable East area of the existing Hospital Complex of S. Anna and S. Sebastiano, this new three-floor building will be dedicated to a range of crucial services, including: Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine, Spinal Unit, Recovery and Functional Rehabilitation and Neuro-rehabilitation and Outpatient Clinics. From a planimetric perspective, the building will have the following dimensions: a width of 24 meters, a length of 115 meters and approximately a height of 17 meters. The structure will consist of a basement and three floors above ground level. Each floor will be designed to maximize comfort and accessibility for patients and medical staff. In addition, a surface car park for users will be created in the south-east area, between the new building and Via Giuseppe de Falco. Work is continuing to progress on the development of a new Community Diagnostic Centre at the heart of Grimsby town centre. Five units within Freshney Place Shopping Centre are being transformed into a hub where you will be able to go and have a wide range of diagnostic tests, creating up to 150,000 additional appointments a year. Due to open to patients in autumn this year, we will be able to offer a range of services, including ophthalmology, non-obstetric ultrasounds and a mix of pathological and physiological tests, such as ECGs and X Rays. GPs will be able to refer patients to a centre, which are not only more convenient for patients but are also more efficient for staff and free up clinicians’ time to help further cut NHS waiting lists. Following the initial internal demolition phase, the full scale of the new centre can now be seen and, today, Great Grimsby MP Lia Nici visited the site to find out more. Adding that “people are really excited” about the development, Ms Nici was given the guided tour by project leads from the NHS Humber Health Partnership – the new group made up of Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust and Hull University Teaching Hospitals Trust – finding out more about our plans to create approximately 60 new jobs and help local businesses by increasing footfall within the town centre. Group Director of Strategy and Partnership, Ivan McConnell, said: “There are great opportunities for people to grow and develop their skills. “We will need administration staff and clinical staff to carry out multiple roles. “There are also other benefits to the local community. If we’re seeing an average of 2,500 people a week, many of which are likely to bring people with them, that’s about 220,000 people hitting the shopping centre, going for a coffee or something to eat, visiting the local pharmacies, or popping into the shops. “It will also remove some of the need for people to go to our acute hospital sites, making it easier for patients and visitors to access the services they need and reduce the demand for parking.” More details about potential job roles at the centre will be released later in the year. I believe this is where AI in echo can play such an important role. Auto analysis of echo has the potential to free the sonographer from the time consuming, tedious, and highly manual task of measurements. By turning the techs into ‘editors’ vs. ‘doers’ enables them to leverage their expertise, freeing up valuable time to focus on the cardio and Hemo dynamic nuances of the case, instead of spending time scrolling through images trying to eyeball and guess best end dysostilc/systolic frame, and tracing borders, etc. These are all tasks deep learning algorithms have proven to be able to do with lightening efficiency, with zero variability or bias. Complete echos can now be processed in ~2 mins, leaving the techs to focus on image acquisition and analysis, all while reducing the wear and tear on their bodies. These algorithms are available today, are cleared by the FDA, and have been validated in several echo core labs across the globe.

Exciting News! 🚀 I recently had the opportunity to read a groundbreaking paper titled 'The rapid access eye clinic’s playbook: how to cut eye casualty attendance by 50%' authored by Maria Eleftheriadou, A Han, Eoin O’Sullivan, and Pei-Fen Lin. The paper details the remarkable transformation of the Moorfields Eye Unit in Croydon, addressing the challenge of managing over 47,000 outpatient attendances, including 5894 eye walk-in Urgent Care visits. The paper highlights the importance of efficient triage systems and collaboration within the healthcare community. They introduced the Rapid Access Clinic (RAC), a game-changing solution that replaced the old walk-in pathway and streamlined emergency eye care services. Since its launch in November 2018, RAC achieved a staggering 50% sustained decrease in urgent care attendances without compromising other eye services. What's even more exciting is how this aligns with the recent developments at Marsden Eye Specialists. We now have a dedicated triage orthoptist working closely with our reception team, and we're witnessing the positive effects on clinic flow and the patient journey. Efficient triaging not only enhances patient care but also optimizes resource utilization. Kudos for setting a remarkable example in the field of eye care! The first week of September marked a significant milestone for the state as we commemorated the first one hundred days in office of His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Executive Governor of Rivers State. In his first 100-day statewide broadcast, His Excellency listed some health sector achievements which underscored his unwavering commitment to his health agenda for the state. Some of the key achievements include: · The renovation of 10 Primary Health Centers (PHCs) across the three senatorial districts in the state. · The reconstruction, upgrade, and equipping of two secondary health facilities: the Professor Kelsey Harrison Memorial Hospital and the Dental Maxillo-facial, ENT and Ophthalmology Hospital. · These two facilities have a combined 150-capacity bed space and state-of-the-art equipment. Once inaugurated, they will provide quality health services to the public. · The Dental Maxillo-facial, ENT and Ophthalmology Hospital will also serve as an annex to the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, a hub for medical research and medical student training. The Ministry of Health wholeheartedly supports His Excellency's unwavering resolve to build a healthier and more vibrant Rivers State. Together, we are making progress towards #Health4AllRivers. While #EIFS has long been used as an #exteriorcladding for the #hospitality and #entertainment industries (e.g. the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin and the Bellagio are just two excellent examples of EIFS projects), EIFS - especially EIFS with Drainage - has become a "go-to" cladding in the #healthcare sector as well. The Mayo Clinic's Expansion in Phoenix, AZ is a case in point. The project expanded three major areas of the Mayo Clinic’s North Phoenix campus, including vertical expansion of the clinic and horizontal expansions of the hospital and east cafeteria buildings as part of the hospital’s larger goal of increasing its patient capacity and laying down the foundations for further expansions down the road. Designed by Shepley Bulfinch and built by McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., this 330,000 sq ft, $145-million expansion project won a "Best Project, Health Care and Award of Merit, Safety" by Engineering News-Record Southwest. With respect to the exterior #cladding, the article below (subscription may be required) makes the following point. "The project deployed a unitized #curtainwall skin system for the clinic’s vertical expansion. The unitized panels allowed for large sections to be prefabricated, simplifying installation, minimizing disruption to the existing facility and reducing the construction schedule to deliver care to patients sooner... This approach not only accelerated construction but also reduced the risks associated with traditional welding methods." This project recently won an "Award of Merit" at the EIFS Industry Members Association (EIMA)'s 2023 Architectural "Hero" Awards too. The project entry form mentioned that the expansion of this hospital "was designed using EIFS to match the existing main building. Prefabricated panels were chosen over field applied EIFS because of lower cost to install, reduced installation time, room for scaffolding, and safety to pedestrian traffic. The façade was comprised of 1,500 panels, which were 24 feet by 15 feet in size." https://lnkd.in/ghcUfcMw Even though RSMeans Data from Gordian points out that EIFS is MUCH less expensive than traditional, heavyweight cladding materials like #brick, #stone, #precast, #curtainwall and #metal panel, it is interesting to note that the cladding is frequently used on major projects - commissioned by some of the world's largest companies and organizations - on projects costing hundreds of millions of dollars - and frequently more. But when one understands that EIFS with Drainage offers a combination of #aesthetics, #performance, #energyefficiency and #financialvalue that #oldfashioned materials just can't match, then the use of EIFS makes sense. With #continuousinsulation integrated into a singular wall system that can mimic #brick, #stone, #wood, #metal, #stucco and #multiclad exteriors, there has never been a better time to consider EIFS for a #newconstruction or #retrofit project. www.eima.com #eima

Arts in Health/Mental Health MUST involve credentialed Art Therapists under many standards. These location-specific mural projects are simply Art. Artmaking and art exposure for inspiration or historic preservation are freely within separate “arts and culture” statutory domain. So hospitals are encouraging mural making. That’s fantastic. It will brighten up hospital walls. However, if consumer healthcare or healing claims are made, that is, by definition, and qualified workers’ rights, Art Therapy. Art Therapists train at least 8 years for our credentials. Please discern Arts in Healthcare (intervention, goal, and regulated profession) from gorgeous, inspired Art. Consumers deserve at least that.
