Gloria's (America Ferrera) full monologue below: "It is literally impossible to be a woman. You are so beautiful, and so smart, and it kills me that you don't think you're good enough. Like, we have to always be extraordinary, but somehow we're always doing it wrong. You have to be thin, but not too thin. And you can never say you want to be thin. You have to say you want to be healthy, but also you have to be thin. You have to have money, but you can't ask for money because that's crass. You have to be a boss, but you can't be mean. You have to lead, but you can't squash other people's ideas. You're supposed to love being a mother, but don't talk about your kids all the damn time. You have to be a career woman but also always be looking out for other people. You have to answer for men's bad behavior, which is insane, but if you point that out, you're accused of complaining. You're supposed to stay pretty for men, but not so pretty that you tempt them too much or that you threaten other women because you're supposed to be a part of the sisterhood. But always stand out and always be grateful. But never forget that the system is rigged. So find a way to acknowledge that but also always be grateful. You have to never get old, never be rude, never show off, never be selfish, never fall down, never fail, never show fear, never get out of line. It's too hard! It's too contradictory and nobody gives you a medal or says thank you! And it turns out in fact that not only are you doing everything wrong, but also everything is your fault. I'm just so tired of watching myself and every single other woman tie herself into knots so that people will like us. And if all of that is also true for a doll just representing women, then I don't even know."
Hi, Barbie! 💕 #AmericaFerrera was honored with the SeeHer Award at Sunday night's Critics Choice Awards. Margot Robbie introduced her #Barbie co-star, sharing: “She is an artist and an activist. She tells us the truth and asks us to reach for something more in the world and in ourselves. She deserves to be celebrated.” We couldn't agree more! 👏 Ferrera shared that she would often see herself “in characters who were strong and complex. But these characters rarely, if ever, looked like me. I yearned to see people like myself onscreen as full humans... We are all worthy of having our lives richly and authentically reflective.” Say it louder 📢

📕 "Why is this such a profound statement? Building a Supportive Network and The Power of Having True Advocates." Here's why this is so important: In the journey of life and career, it's crucial to surround yourself with the right people, those who will actually speak up for you in a room full of opportunities. This simple concept holds profound significance because it directly impacts your visibility, credibility and access to new possibilities. Imagine being in a room buzzing with opportunities - job openings, exciting projects, potential collaborations. In such a setting, having advocates who have no hesitation to mention your name can make all the difference. When someone speaks positively about you, they are not just acknowledging your talents; they are endorsing your capabilities and potential. These advocates are more than just acquaintances; they are individuals who genuinely believe in you. They become your allies, mentors, or friends in professional settings. Their support and trust in your abilities can open doors that you might not have known existed. The act of mentioning your name in the right circles enhances your visibility. Suddenly, you are on the radar of decision-makers and influencers. This increased exposure can lead to a cascade of opportunities - new job offers, exciting projects, or even promotions within your current role. When others vouch for you, it adds a layer of validation to your skills and character. It builds your reputation and credibility within your industry or community and people start associating your name with competence and professionalism. Building a network of advocates is a strategic investment in your long-term growth and success. These are the individuals who will support you during both highs and lows, offering guidance, opportunities and sometimes just a reassuring word when needed. To cultivate such relationships, start by nurturing genuine connections. Seek out individuals who share similar values and ambitions. Be generous in offering your support and encouragement to others as well. Networking isn't just about collecting business cards; it's about building meaningful relationships based on mutual respect and trust. As you progress, remember the importance of reciprocity. Be the advocate for others that you hope to have for yourself. Celebrate the successes of your colleagues and offer help when you can. Having advocates who will speak your name is a game-changer. It's not just about networking; it's about fostering genuine connections with people who see your potential and are willing to champion your cause. Start nurturing relationships, sharing your goals and offering support to others. Together, let's create a community where everyone thrives and succeeds. Your advocates are out there, go find them and cultivate meaningful connections that will propel you towards your dreams. #Leadership #Inspiration #Networking #Success #Entrepreneurship

It’s only been MY pleasure to lead our business for 8 of the 11 years I have been involved. Few things I have learned: • Only request of others tasks you're willing to undertake yourself. • True leaders prioritize their team's needs over their own. • Offer respect to everyone, regardless of whether they reciprocate. • Always come prepared. • Explain the purpose behind tasks, not just the tasks themselves. • Maintain an eagerness for learning throughout life. • Prioritize listening over speaking. • Sometimes, you'll need to go beyond your role without expecting rewards—such efforts often bring personal fulfillment. • Missteps aren't failures; they're chances to grow and advance. • Stay authentic to who you are and your core beliefs. Success follows when you align with organizations that share your values. • MOST IMPORTANT: Want more for others than from them! Thank you for the opportunity Mid-South, to continue to deliver a service that NO ONE wants, but at some point, EVERYONE needs.
We'd like to give a special shoutout to Tyler P. on his 11 year anniversary with us! 🎉 You help us thrive Tyler! Help us wish Tyler a Happy 11 years with us! 💛
