Legacy customer engagement tools suffer from significant data limitations across most industries, but for certain categories, they simply do not work. I'm referring to businesses that handle regulated and sensitive data, such as those in Fintech, Healthtech, and Insurtech. Take the example of an online pharmacy that enables customers to purchase medications and schedule lab tests. This company securely maintains sensitive customer information within a tightly regulated data warehouse. However, transferring this data to third-party engagement tools like MoEngage and CleverTap is heavily restricted due to stringent regulations. Even with all the required compliances, businesses are generally restricted to transferring only minimal user details, such as first and last names, email addresses to these platforms. These restrictions significantly impair the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns. For instance, how does the pharmacy remind customers who have purchased diabetes medications in the past six months but haven't scheduled a crucial HbA1c test? Companies in the Fintech and Insurtech sectors face similar challenges, with organizations like BankBazaar spending years to built inhouse customer engagement solutions.
