Breaking down master coils into the smaller coils used for the on-site production of rainware products such as seamless gutters has traditionally been a time consuming and labor-intensive process. However, Red Bud Industries has recently introduced a series of Light Gauge Slitting Lines specifically designed for the production of light gauge metal building products. These highly automated machines will stop at the correct finished coil weight or length, and crop the strip and tape (maybe optional) the coils. The coils are automatically removed, separated, and upended. The Recoiler is rethread and the line is restarted. An Asphalt Manufacturer contacted BDI about needing help replacing and installing a conveyor belt. The conveyor needed a new belt that transfers the aggregate to the dryer (drum) where the aggregate gets completely dried. After drying it transfers to the pug mill where liquid asphalt is pumped and added and gets mixed together. Once the asphalt is mixed thoroughly and heated it is sent up to storage silos. Below the silos is where the loading area is, which allows dump trucks to drive under to load the material and take it to the paving site. The belt that was needed was a 2Ply, 120 feet long X 30 inches in width. They also needed a head and tail pulleys, bearings and idlers. BDI provided the head and tail pulleys, bearings and idlers and were all delivered weeks before the install, which allowed maintenance to have it all replaced and be ready for the install.
