A question of sports day. With four kids in my clan, I've been coming to school sporting events for a long time now. Not missed one yet in 12 years, and the latest with my youngest Raif was another life-affirming afternoon. It never gets old to see the excitement of people cheering on their peers and a spirit of friendly competition nudging each participant to give their best. Some of the greatest encouragement comes when an egg slips from its spoon, or a child stumbles on the sack race. It holds some great lessons for the workplace. - Say yes to opportunities that will test you. - Throw yourself into each task with enthusiasm. - Keep your sense of humour when things don't go to plan. But, above all, encourage others around you and take joy in watching them succeed. (Said by a dad whose son unseated his egg on the home straight and came in fourth.) 😁 🥚 🥄
Great post, but did you say "yes" to the opportunity of joining in the dad race? 😁
Such a beautiful and encouraging read, Steve 😍
You evoked lovely memories of my clan when they were small and a great lesson for my team right now.
Well done Raif 🙌🏼🙌🏼 and as always, fabulous reflection and words to bring to the work place, thank you Steve

3wAnother inspiring post! School sports days are the best! Best fun, best family banter, best memories! Did you have any of the lycra clad, over-competitive types in the parents races?.....or was that a civilised affair where you were? 🤣
