Today we're looking at the essential game plan for hurricane season this year and EVERY year. 🌀 1. Know your evacuation zones. If an evacuation order is put in place, do you know if you're included? If you live in South Florida, you can find an excellent storm surge planning zone map. For other regions, please check your county websites for localized resources! 2. Make a disaster supply kit. A disaster supplies kit is a collection of basic items your household may need in the event of an emergency. Food, water, and medication are always a priority. Having enough to last a few days following an emergency is not only a great idea but recommended. 3. Look at your insurance. Are you covered? Do you have appropriate home insurance and flood insurance? 4. Assess weak points at home. Finding areas that may be vulnerable to a storm and addressing them ahead of time could save you hundreds, if not thousands, in potential damages. 5. Help others prepare. Lend a hand to friends, family, and even neighbors. When disaster strikes, a sense of community can make a difference. If you have more tips you'd like to share, comment below! For help completing step three in our guide, contact us for a complimentary review.🛡️ #corpfi #riskmanagement #insurance #lifeinsurance #businessinsurance #homeandauto #storminsurance #hurricane #flood #CorporateFinancial

The NOAA just updated their forecast for this Hurricane Season Outlook to reflect an increase from near normal to above normal. They expect at least 14 storms and we're at 5 right now. Let's hope they're wrong, and El Nino holds strong. #propertyinsurance #propertyandcasualty #insurance #riskmanagement https://lnkd.in/gaCNWb4u

Please feel free to share with someone who would benefit from this information. 🏠 Secure your home and valuables by reinforcing doors, windows, and securing belongings to minimize potential damage. 📑 Review your insurance policy, making sure to include flood insurance if you are in an area prone to flooding. 📦 Stock up on essential emergency supplies such as non-perishable food, potable water, first aid items, flashlights, batteries, and a battery-powered radio. 🚗 Establish a comprehensive communication plan with your family members to stay connected during the storm. Plan and practice your evacuation route, and set a designated meeting place in case you get separated. 🐾 Don't forget about your pets! Include pet preparedness in your plans by arranging for their safety and preparing an emergency kit specifically for them. ⛽ Ensure you have enough fuel for your vehicles and generators to last through the storm and prevent shortages during power outages. 💰 Safeguard your financial security during the storm by gathering important documents, including mortgage papers and insurance policies, and storing them in a waterproof container. 🔔 Stay informed about the hurricane's progress and weather updates by monitoring reputable sources.
