In 1960 #JamesStewart and #LisaLu appeared in “The Mountain Road” which depicted a demolition squad tasked with destroying airfields, bridges, and ammunition dumps to slow the advance of an enemy army. Today’s pyrotechnics often steal the show. In this movie, however, a slow-burning fuse paces the plot to an explosive revelation – the failure of #modernism. The dialog juggles #injustice, #power, #irrationality, the #breakdown of #socialorder, and questions about #lifeinvestment and #meaning. Here are links to three sequential clips which boil the narrative to a saucy reduction. (Sorry about switching metaphors.) Forgive me for not packaging the three into one longer clip, but YT allows only 60 seconds per. Each clip begins with the same splash screen, so give it a few seconds. If not tidy systems thinking, then what?

Radar Yesterday “Weather Scout “Today
In many ways the early 1930’s resembles today’s turbulent world. During that era the concern was the unrest of Europe caused by the evolving move to fascism in Germany and Italy while today we cast our eyes towards the vastness of the Pan Pacific region and the PRC’s Taiwan designs. In the 30’s UK thoughts drifted toward a concept called Chain Home which was the establishment of an interconnected network of radar sites ringing the channels eastern side from north to south and operating off the national grid. By 1940 the planning had manifested itself into reality and the sites were operational just in time to face the onslaught of the Blitz. The sites were so powerful and had the fidelity to detect Luftwaffe swarms as they organized over France for the “Battle of Britain”. Armed with directional information 600 plus Spits and Hurricanes were able to hold off the German onslaught and prevent a cross channel invasion to occur. Indeed, radar played a pivotal role in the outcome. Fast forward to today as PRC assets or all types from the proximity of their mainland challenge the sovereignty of an island nation. Taiwan’s regional allies, Japan, ROK Philippines, Australia and the United States are all remote beyond the ocean. Thus, projecting sea and air power will be a logistical challenge. So why not take a page from history and create a network of “weather scouts” that can act to granularly measure atmospheric variables assisting all the assets we are putting in motion. Think of the advantage it would be to send precise weather data to CCA platforms combined with manned combatants and hundreds of “Affordable Mass” munitions swarming toward high value targets. Consider how one could leverage the weather as a force multiplier. All these things are possible today with the right amount of integration and flight test process.

A way toward regional peace. A way forward so starving people can be fed:
The USA should be removed from the UN Security Council for aiding and abetting genoc!de. As a terrorist occupying force, I$rael should be cut off from the $14 Billion plus welfare that it receives annually from Uncle Sam (and our taxes). The US actively opposes the security of Palestinian civilians and should no longer sit on the UNSC with over-riding, abused, veto power.
There is a mechanism for removal of “Security” Council members whose nations fail by promoting genocide.
Article 6 of the UN Charter allows for any member of the UN to be expelled – even if they sit on the Security Council – for persistently violating the principles of the United Nations.
The General Assembly should unite on this point and remove the USA from the UN, for the good of all.
Let us move the UN headquarters, fund the UN independently, and admit First Nations (Native American nations and others) to the new UN!
As a US citizen, I do not support my nation’s genoc!dal ways.
As someone else recently wrote:
…✍🏻In the 75 years since the UN was founded, no country has violated the principles of the UN Charter more than the United States of America.
This is exemplified in the case of Palestine, where a ceasefire and an end to the genocide is persistently prevented by the United States, which cynically uses its veto power in the Security Council to overrule the will of the majority.
Symbolic demonstrations are important, but focused action with a tangible goal is even more so.
This is why it is time to demand the invocation of Article 6 – to expel the U.S. from the United Nations.
…
We call for the expulsion of the United States from the United Nations because that is a real objective that may not only result in a ceasefire in Gaza but can also invite much-needed reform of the United Nations and Security Council.
To this end, we invite all those who desire an end to the tyranny of injustice to join our movement to Invoke the 6th
Let’s demand that our leaders rule with justice and integrity. Let’s demand that all member states have a meaningful voice on the international stage. Let’s act for change. Let’s do it now!
It is time for the world to say enough is enough…

The biggest enemy of a sustainable future is War. Why are so many people who say they care about the Environment reluctant to talk about Military Emissions being
greater than Aviation + Shipping combined..? Why do so many #Greens in #EU support the #NATO War Machine...?

Darwinism and evolution for rope-ways
Rope-ways came to us thanks to the Italians; So goes the fuzzy history
1800s saw a rope pulled by donkeys towing military stuff uphill
Then came the people movers:
Slow staid expensive plain-vanilla continuous mass-transport linear systems
What could we do so that ...
We get onboard from just anywhere (Not have to go to a ropeway-station)
We move faster than ground traffic (Not suffer short slow rides)
We move atop roads and lakes (Not forced along a straight line)
We get nimble self-powered Cabs (Not ponderous dumb gondolas)
We can descend to ground when we want (Not wait for the next station)
We reach our doorstep in the same Cab (Not wait for a connector)
AND
We travel cocooned privately (Not herded into mass carriages)?
It ought run cheaper faster further, even along narrow or twisty lanes!
AirCab
Darwinism as for evolution
All loved flavors <Vs> Just plain-vanilla

In early December, three commercial ships came under attack in the Red Sea, according to the U.S. Department of Defense. This is not the first time this vital maritime corridor has seen trouble. Could these new attacks be part of an increasingly hostile and dangerous Red Sea? More in our interview with Mark Toth, National Security and Foreign Policy Writer, and Royce de Melo, Middle East and Africa security consultant and analyst.
Construction noise spooks trained military horses in London
Recent events in London have highlighted the urgent need for innovative solutions to manage construction noise. Five trained military horses of the Household Cavalry were spooked by loud noises at a construction site during a rehearsal, leading to a chaotic situation where the horses, along with some soldiers and a cyclist, sustained injuries. See BBC article at https://lnkd.in/gPmHvmTc.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the immediate and disruptive impact of construction noise, not just on daily operations but also on the well-being of both humans and animals. At Noizend, we are dedicated to tackling this issue head-on using advanced manufacturing and materials technologies. Our development of the Noizend Shield aims to offer a portable, flexible solution to effectively reduce low-frequency noise from various industrial applications, including construction.
As urban environments grow, the challenge of managing noise pollution becomes more significant. The long-term health effects of continuous noise exposure are well-documented, aligning with concerns raised by international bodies like the United Nations and the World Health Organization.
We invite you to join us in our mission to enhance urban living conditions through advanced noise reduction technologies. For more information on how we can assist your projects, please get in touch with us at info@noizend.com#Noizend#NoisePollution#UrbanDevelopment#Innovation#Sustainability
Navy Seals:
It has long been established that marine mammals such as sea lions and dolphins are intelligent and possess superior diving capabilities, eyesight, directional hearing, or echolocation.
For decades, employing marine mammals has been a common military strategy and marine mammals have been deemed “invaluable components” of the defence force. In 1959, the US Navy’s Marine Mammal Systems (MMS) programme began, and each fleet detachment included four - eight sea lions or dolphins, which could quickly be deployed by strategic airlift to any part of the world.
A herd of California sea lions (Zalophus californianus) known as ‘Mk 5 Mod 1’ were trained to attach recovery pendants to exercise mines and torpedoes and other test objects equipped with acoustic pingers. Mk 5 Mod 1 recovered more than 95% of the test and exercise mines and torpedoes in Charleston and San Diego.
Another beneficial sea lion sense is their ability to vocalise underwater without releasing air, due to their collapsible/expandable internal air reservoirs. Sea lions capture air and contract the reservoir to recycle it back to their lungs; this allows multiple vocalisations and the ability to vocalise for a long period without resurfacing for air.
While sea lion’s natural senses have demonstrated superiority to technology in rough weather and noisy areas, military training for animals is physically and psychologically punishing and carries the inherent risk of deaths.
