Finally, a sequel that can keep up with part 1! 😌 I am of course referring to our second OKR (Objectives and Key Results) workshop. What hasn't changed compared to the "predecessor": the plot. The aim of the management framework is still to make our company processes more efficient, agile and targeted. Of course, this is not possible without the commitment of everyone involved. That is why I would like to introduce you - on behalf of the Business Group Lifecycle Solutions - to a team that has taken on a leading role in our prequel: our Special Original Equipment (SOE) experts. As you all know, the automotive industry is in a state of upheaval - it is therefore particularly important for our SOE team to respond to changing customer needs and market changes, while remaining flexible and driving innovation. This is precisely where the OKR framework should support. In the workshop, the SOE team set clear goals and developed processes for regular review and adjustment. It makes me proud to see how everyone is working together to create strong alignment within our company - and I'm excited to see the positive impact this will have on our overall performance and success. 🤩 What is your experience with the OKR method? #FORVIAHELLA #SOE #Automotive #OKR #Collaboration #AgileLeadership

What are my responsibilities as an OKR Process Owner other than being a mentor and coach to the teams, you may ask? Let me tell you! If you've been following my posts, you already know that I've been working in the OKR (Objectives and Key Results) setup since September 2022 as a mentor and as one of six Process Owners within Voith Paper P&S. Together with my six colleagues from the USA, Brazil, Germany and China, I attended a three-day in-depth training course in order to fully prepare myself for the role of OKR Process Owner. Fortunately, we all passed the exam at the end of the training and can call ourselves OKR Process Owner now. All regional experts in the OKR teams also received basic training on what the OKRs are, what a cycle looks like, and what the responsibilities of an OKR Process Owner are. During each cycle, each team has regular catch-up meetings (in my teams it's every two weeks) where we review results, refocus activities, and escalate issues as needed. Our regular online meetings establish a productive routine and allow us to focus our attention. They also foster a sense of togetherness. Face-to-face meetings, such as the Strategy Meeting to which all process owners were invited, strengthen our facilitation skills and provide important input to the issues. What's next? As we slowly but surely approach the end of Cycle 1 for this fiscal year, we're in the midst of making all the preparations to help our teams complete this cycle successfully and start the next one strong. I'll keep you posted! #CreatorsAtVoith #OKR #BehindTheScenes

📊 Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) are an incredibly effective tool for tracking progress and achieving goals. Their inherent flexibility ensures teams can adjust their objectives and key results as new information becomes available or priorities shift. 💡 For example, if a team realizes that a particular objective no longer aligns with their overall goals, they can easily modify or replace it with a more relevant one. This adaptability ensures that teams are always working towards what matters most, maximizing their chances of success. 👉 Learn more about OKRs in our upcoming Certified OKR Professional Live Online Course: https://buff.ly/3vZXGSn #TheKPIInstitute #TKI #OKR #OnlineLearning #Certification

Why Does OKR Excellence Take Much Practice? (Practice to near perfection with the OKR Practitioner Course) We have been taught to draft task lists at school, university, and careers. Therefore, it is a process of transformation in thinking, from an output focus to an outcome focus, to be successful with OKRs and Agile methodologies. It takes time to think differently and apply methodologies you are not used to - We tell all our OKR course participants that it takes 2 to 5 OKR cycles to become competent. Uplifting the engagement levels of team members, fostering collaboration, and creating transparency and alignment to the Vision and strategies of the company is not an exercise of short duration. A large part of our practitioner course is to create the shift from an output (activity-based) orientation to an outcome (purpose, benefit, value-added) orientation. We foster a practical orientation toward teaching OKRs: ✅ You will be drafting OKRs within different contexts during the course ✅ You will be supported to make the shift from output to outcome thinking ✅ You will understand how to conduct check-ins and effective reviews ✅ You will know how to facilitate OKR drafting workshops ✅ You will understand the broader context of OKRs, such as transparent strategies and alignment with the Vision of the company ✅ Support will be provided to help you to write your organization's 'OKR playbook. All of the above requires frequent practice. Learning from mistakes or failures is the most optimal learning within the environment of OKRs. As we validate hypotheses through OKRs, we can iterate and refine our OKR frameworks. This also takes time to optimize. Our practitioner course is an excellent way to 'start building' your organization's 'OKR muscle. It will vastly increase the understanding of what needs to happen and what is required to make OKRs successful and sustainable in your organization. What sets OKRs apart from traditional goal-setting methods? The difference lies in the principles behind effective OKRs: 🔎 Transparency Across the Organization Every team member can see and understand OKRs across all levels, fostering an environment of openness. 🗺️ Sharp Focus and Direction OKRs compel us to prioritize vigorously. Instead of scattering efforts across multiple targets, we focus on what truly matters. 🔃 Short Iterative Cycles Unlike annual goals, OKRs are set quarterly or even for shorter periods, allowing for rapid adjustments and responsiveness to change. 📈 Outcome-Oriented The focus is on delivering value, not just completing tasks. It's about the impact, not just the activities. 👥 Localization to Team Expertise OKRs are set by the teams themselves, tailored to their unique expertise and understanding of their roles within the broader mission. These principles ensure that OKRs are more than just a goal-setting syntax; they're a strategy for meaningful and effective execution. Want to learn more about setting OKRs? 2moOKR can be a fantastic tool to bring the strategy in the Maschinenraum. It can also shape the culture of an organization, as it builds on participation, transparency, openness and data-drivenness. Most important: one should focus on outcome, not on output. But it needs to be well implemented - otherwise people will not buy-into and see it as another unnecessary bureaucratic pain. NB. best system and team to help implementing OKR (in my view): Workpath.
