Why do we need a special day to celebrate mothers? Shouldn't we be honoring and appreciating them every day? But then I realized, Mother's Day is not just about celebrating individual mothers, but also about acknowledging the immense value and impact of motherhood on our society. Motherhood is a selfless, tireless, and often thankless job. Mothers are the backbone of our families, communities, and economies. They are the primary caregivers, nurturers, and role models for future generations. Despite their vital contributions, mothers are often overlooked, underappreciated, and overworked. They bear the brunt of childcare responsibilities, manage households, and juggle multiple roles with grace and resilience. So, yes, we need a day like Mother's Day to pause, reflect, and express our gratitude for all that mothers do. We need to recognize the complexity and diversity of motherhood, and celebrate the many faces of motherly love. Let's use this day to honor not just biological mothers but all motherly figures who have made a positive impact in our lives. Let's show our appreciation, support, and love for the women who shape our world, one family at a time. #MothersDay #Motherhood #Family #Love #Care #Nurture #Diversity #Inclusion #Gratitude #Appreciation

Helping Leaders and Organizations Thrive | Learning Experience Designer and Facilitator | Leadership Coach | Culture Consultant
As a woman who finds fulfillment in both motherhood and having a career, I recognize the extremely hard work it takes to balance the often competing demands that come with this lifestyle. And let’s be real, it’s not like this is a “choice” for most families. The decision for women to work for pay is more often than not a financial necessity. So I love this idea of “Mother’s Monday” to celebrate all of the moms out there who work as professionals in addition to the work of motherhood. 🎉 Finding balance in this lifestyle is a great challenge, especially for women in leadership roles. So we all need to make sure we’re getting the support we need to stay grounded and prevent being pulled in a million directions at once. This starts with staying centered in purpose, recognizing how we’re feeling and how we want to feel, and moving through any barriers so we can build fulfillment for ourselves and those around us at home and at work. #fulfillment #flourishing #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #culture #emotionalintelligence

Did you know May 13 is known as Mother's Monday? It's a day to celebrate working motherhood in all its forms and complexity. And to acknowledge the many barriers mothers face historically and currently as they navigate making change for their families and their companies. Today I celebrate the progress we've made and continue to champion all the work we have to do to help mothers thrive, especially at work. #caregiverswithcareers #workingmom #supportingwomen #parentalleave #caregivers

🌷 Reflecting on Mother's Day 🌷 As we celebrate Mother's Day, it's a time not only to express gratitude for the incredible mothers in our lives but also to contemplate the challenges they face in today's world. The modern working mother embodies resilience and strength, balancing career aspirations with the nurturing of their family. However, it's essential to acknowledge that the expectations placed on mothers have evolved significantly, often without a corresponding increase in support from society. The evolving roles of mothers intersect with broader societal expectations, presenting unique challenges that deserve our attention. Despite progress, traditional gender roles and societal pressures can still weigh heavily on mothers, leading to increased pressure and stress. On this Mother's Day, let's renew our commitment to supporting mothers in all facets of their lives. Let's create a society that supports the family unit, empowers mothers to pursue fulfilling careers, and reduces the pressures they face. By prioritizing affordable childcare, parental leave, and flexible work arrangements, we can facilitate a better work-life balance, allowing mothers to navigate both their professional and personal responsibilities with clarity and support. To all the mothers out there, your strength, dedication, and love are truly remarkable. Today and every day, let's celebrate you. Happy Mother's Day! 💐 #mothers #workingmoms #makeeverydaymothersday

🌷#HappyMothersDay to all the wonderful mothers out there! Today we celebrate the significance of #motherhood in today's society. While this day is celebrated on different dates depending on the country, it's important to recognize the complexities of motherhood in our modern world. As mothers, we often feel like we're juggling it all and have to let go of something. But in reality, we should never limit ourselves and our achievements. The role of mothers has evolved beyond traditional caregiving to pursuing personal dreams, leadership, and societal contributions. Today's mothers balance child-rearing with careers and community involvement, embodying strength, resilience, and empowerment. Therese Spiers 's article examines the multifaceted evolution of motherhood, including the interplay of career and parenting, societal pressures, and the critical role of support systems. It's a great read that resonates with us even today. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/gmkmaiJM Let's take this moment to celebrate all the amazing mothers out there. I want to recognize the struggles and sacrifices mothers face and appreciate all that they do. #HappyMothersDay #Motherhood #Career #Parenting #SocietalPressures #SupportSystems

Have you heard of something called the ‘Motherhood Penalty’? Put simply, it refers to the ramifications that motherhood has on hiring, promotions and salary in the workplace. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to raise two amazing children alongside building a business, and I often tell women to go for it. However, I also appreciate this isn’t helpful for many due to myriad socio-economic factors. And while not all women want to be mothers, those who do face mounting concerns about the cost of living crisis and career progression. Yet supporting our employees to explore parenthood can work wonders for staff retention, employee satisfaction and workplace diversity. Rather than forcing employees to delay having children or missing important milestones to continue to deliver at work, even simple changes such as flexible work-from-home policies or extended parental leave after childbirth can have a major impact on this issue. To address this, it’s important to take a close look at how current mothers in the workplace are progressing to identify whether unconscious bias is present, and to review HR policies related to parenthood. With the facts to hand, leadership can then make informed decisions on how to be more inclusive.

Chief of Staff to CEO: Mastering Chaos and Organizing Operations to Support Executives, Building Startups and Small Businesses
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there! 🌺 Motherhood is sometimes celebrated and at times underappreciated in the business world. Many mothers face challenges re-entering the workforce after a period dedicated to raising children, while others jump back after such a short maternity leave. They often manage not just their careers but also doctor’s appointments, school pickup/dropoff, and after-school activities, which needs a considerable amount of flexibility. It’s amazing to see the support out there with all the groups and companies that believe in this. Here’s to all those strong mothers managing children at home full-time, and to those balancing parenthood with their careers. But let’s also get into those moms transitioning in their career, going after that big company job, or even starting their own business! Each of you are doing something truly remarkable. #mothersday #workingmoms #busy #stayathomemoms #transition #kids #strong #female #jobs #workforce #flexibility #womensupportingwomen

Founder & CEO of J&L Communications | We help B2B companies increase awareness, capture the hearts and minds of customers, and accelerate brand growth.
Today, as we celebrate National Working Moms Day, I want to recognize and appreciate the incredible dedication and hard work of all the working mothers out there! Shout out to some in my community that I admire: Rebecca Bauer, Kristin Malek, Erica DyReyes, Michelle Mucci, Dana Sadiq, Michelle Projekt, Amy Call Well, Erika Chambers, @Marissa Ivo, Liza Morse, Hope Reisinger Cobera, Amy Dashoff, Holly Esteves, @Molly Ward, Moon Kim, Ruhi Joshi, Mary Burens Petzinger, Kristin Mastrandrea Meza, Jill Forbes, Gillian Fitzgerald, Valerie Kemme-Smith, Kelly McAuley, Jennifer Northam, Marina Paulus, Amanda Resnick, Lizzie Newland McWilliams, Michelle Sing, Abby Ross Toth, Lindsay Woodward, Matilda Sung, Lauren Anderson Narwold, and Sallie Moffat, among so many others! Balancing work and family responsibilities can be a challenging feat, but these amazing women tackle it with grace and resilience every single day. As a community, it's essential for us to rally around and offer our support wherever we can. I also want to celebrate all the working parents out there as it takes a team and a village. Curious about ways to support working parents in your life? Here are some gestures from both friends and colleagues that I've appreciated: -Offer to watch the kids. Even a few hours of uninterrupted time can make a world of difference. -Ask about their needs. Sometimes, a simple conversation can lead to discovering ways you can offer support that you may not have thought of otherwise. -Schedule hangouts that are child-friendly. Finding time for socializing can be tough for working parents, so organizing activities that accommodate both parent and child can be a thoughtful gesture. -Recommend resources in your community. Whether it's recommending local support groups, childcare facilities, or other services, connecting parents with valuable resources can make life a bit easier. Let's show our appreciation and support for the working mothers, and working parents, in our lives. Happy National Working Moms Day! #WorkingMomsDay #SupportingWorkingMoms #CommunitySupport

Do you know any mother out there who doesn't want or need more support? I don't...and I know a LOT of moms. Parenthood is the hardest job in the world. And mothers take on a disproportionate amount of work outside of parenting too: the work of managing homes, raising children, building communities, and often, doing paid work outside the home. All of this work is important, life-changing, and economy-changing. However, it is work that largely goes unacknowledged and frequently is under-paid or entirely unpaid. Do you see a problem here? I am so inspired by the movement to VALUE the incredible work that mothers do, inside and outside of the home. Neha Leela Ruch and Mother Untitled are part of the movement changing this conversation. Their latest step is the Mother Untitled Directory of Experts: a rolodex of all the people and resources mothers need to feel supported in this season of motherhood. Experts on Care, Career, Money, Relationships, and Self. The resources that mothers so desperately need, but can be (1) hard to find and (2) requires letting go of the guilt and shame we place on mothers who can't "do it all" alone. I am so excited to be featured as one of the Career Experts, dedicated specifically to helping mothers evaluate, consider, and perhaps embrace a career pause or downshift. Check out Mother Untitled and pass the Directory along to any mothers who deserve support as they navigate their career alongside motherhood!
