Employers, doctors, advisors, solution partners… UNITE! Can’t wait to attend my 2nd annual conference. I love being in a meeting with employers and educating them on what’s possible. I also love when they reply, “this sounds like what healthcare used to be like!” #healthcare not #sickcare #employeebenefits

While sitting waiting for my last leg back home to beautiful South Africa, I thought to share some reflections of #SCOPESummit2024… 1) As my 2nd SCOPE event, and my first in the US, I was happily surprised at the energy of the event - one passer-by aptly described the first few hours of the event as a high school reunion, with friends and colleagues using the time to catch up. 2) Soon though, it turned to business, with many coming up to hear what’s new, not only for Cyntegrity, but the RBQM space as a whole. The ICH E6 R3 due in September was a hot topic, and I enjoyed hearing the thoughts of seasoned experts such as Keith Dorricott. 3) It quickly became apparent that there is a renewed hunger for dedicated #RBQM solutions, with many asking about the field, what’s new, and what differentiates the various providers. 4) Buy vs Build continues to be a question, with a slight edge towards recognising the value of using a dedicated, purpose built system as opposed to a home built, costly system which may be a bit and miss. 5) Lastly RBQM is a competitive space, but I quickly recognised at this event that there is plenty of business to go around. It is key that companies seeking such a solution find the best fit for their purposes. A bit of healthy competition is good, and if anything, it just pushes all RBQM providers to work even harder to provide better products to the industry, leading ultimately to a better, real world benefit for patients. Do you have any other insights? Would you agree or disagree with any of the above?

What do we need to change at NHS Birmingham and Solihull? We're urging all staff in health and care to continue to get involved in our second Our Open Conversation. Through the conversation – which ends on 7 May - we’re checking and challenging the pledges that have been drafted in response to what was shared in the first Conversation at the end of last year. Did we hear correctly? Do the pledges address our concerns and priorities? Everything shared in this second Conversation will directly impact the final pledges and shape the future of our health and care system. #OurOpenConversations are interactive online conversations hosted by our independent partner, Clever Together. They are anonymous, inclusive, and transparent. Here’s what to do: 1. Find out how to log in at: https://lnkd.in/eMUfSH4v 2. Vote and comment on the draft pledges and the contributions of others 3. Spread the word! https://lnkd.in/eZKTEm6B

Taking discoveries down the deployment track requires an unbreakable human chain linking all of the skills necessary for the journey. The strength of that chain is not however is not just in the diversity of skills it is in how they are integrated through a collegial and collaborative approach that engenders trust in each other. Translation through connectivity ! I will share some thoughts on how this might be achieved in the modern era of research.
IPRI Director Gordon Wallace AO will be at the upcoming Royal Society of NSW Southern Highlands Branch Meeting in Mittagong on June 20 for a talk on getting technological advances into the clinic. All are welcome to join. Find more information here: https://bit.ly/3XhM5K7

Delivering Memorable Corporate Events Globally | Working With Event Planners & Trainers To Produce Highly Engaging Events & Workshops Without The Technical Obstacles | Event Production | Creative Agency
One of my favourite projects we’ve worked on to date…. A great conference, with great people and an important mission: to improve lives of those with heart failure ❤️. This hybrid event really brought together all our skills and passions at Virtual Approval, with one purpose: create an intertwined, valuable experience. 6 + months of….. 🎤 Speaker management 🧍♀️ Delegate management 📐 Exhibition management 🎟️ Registration 📍 Venue management 💻 Online platform design & build 🎥 Hybrid A/V (audio-visual) 🎬 Production & showcalling 🖥️ Set & stage design 🌐 Virtual / hybrid experience strategy 📷 Photography & videography 📈 Analytics QUESTION: What makes a hybrid event work? ANSWER: Not one single thing, or a small group of things… but lots of components coming together in harmony. We’re not here to construct complex symphonies, just a smooth experience for online and in person attendees / speakers / exhibitors / performers / hosts so the event has a cohesive rhythm. Thanks to the whole team and awesome partners Branchout Productions Inconf Samantha Toolsie Hamish Nichols Cameron Mckirdy Dominique Stedman Chris Alexander Chad Tunley https://lnkd.in/dPN9PDR9

Looking forward to the ONC Annual Meeting and sessions on information blocking like the one below! Perspectives on Information Blocking: Insights from National Surveys and Claims Received by ONC This session will discuss insights from three data sources, each of which reflects individuals’ or organizations’ perceptions of information blocking: a nationwide survey of health information networks/health information exchanges, an ONC-supported survey of hospital leaders, and ONC’s publicly released information blocking ‘Quick Stat’ data. Presenters will discuss how the information and perspectives expressed in these data reflect trends related to information blocking in the healthcare delivery system, and the additional questions these data raise related to the prevalence of information blocking. #interoperability #ehrintegration

I’m attending the 2023 ADvancing States HCBS Conference virtually this week, and it was great to learn about the latest trends and best practices in HCBS. Last year, I asked someone at the HHCN Future Conference in New York what their favorite conference was in 2022, and he told me ADvancing States HCBS Conference. I’m glad to attend in this cool virtual format through EventsAir, and I’ve learned so much. I highly recommend attending and look forward to attending in person next year. Key learnings: States are facing challenges in meeting the needs of people receiving home and community based services, including staffing shortages, rising costs, and regulatory barriers; there is a growing emphasis on using technology to improve the delivery of HCBS; states are increasingly collaborating with each other to share resources and best practices.

So, my current EMS DPH Region is coming together to create a local EMS conference. We are just in the preplanning stages. I want this to prosper as much as the MetroAtlanta EMS conference has, as well as SwampRabbitt in South Carolina. We have such a plethora of great things for travelers to do off-site that it could be the next thing in EMS. So I would like to see what you all would like to see in a prehospital specialty conference? What classes or speakers would you like to see? What are some cost associations that you could see as reasonable? What are some food options? What are some ideas that you would like to see a panel discussion on? How many days should this conference be?

This gentleman here, Dr. Fox, introduced me to an issue in clinical trials I didn't know existed. Anyone working in the space is likely aware, but if you want to do something about it, talk to this guy. And it doesn't hurt the rest of us to be aware of what is going on in our world. Media keeps us distracted and quibbling over minutiae, because a lot goes on when we aren't paying attention. Rant on the Bill of Rights to come at some point. ;-) The Dunning-Kruger effect has been strong with me. There is so much I don't know and so much I am learning about clinical trials and the entire drug and device industry. I only know the preclinical side. Heutagogy can, if you are open, integrate multiple perspectives into didactics and enrich the experience. Real-world problem solving and applications are always the best! (The same is happening with coding, I am getting the hang of it but there are so many things! Is web-scraping illegal? Asking for a friend. Also, I did NOT know that Python was named for MONTY PYTHON. Well, I guess I will go cut down the mightiest tree in the forest with a herring in shame.
