"I was excited about the opportunity to work on a project for the organization while being supported by supervisors, mentors, and peers." As an intern in the property and casualty underwriting department, Davis is eager to enhance her risk management skills. "I have been learning about the different departments in the company, which has given me a more complete understanding of the insurance industry processes. I am conducting research to understand the impacts of Secondary Perils, such as tsunamis after an earthquake or damage from lightning. I am very excited to present my research." Davis emphasizes the three key aspects she seeks in an internship: the opportunity for growth and professional experience, access to professional leadership and mentoring, and a friendly and welcoming company culture. "On my first day, I was greeted with warm smiles and cheers, as well as an inbox full of personalized cards from State Farm employees, including managers and executives. Interning at State Farm means getting to be a part of the neighborhood of hard-working individuals who are passionate about helping people." So glad that you are excited about your opportunity and I wish you the best as you couldn't be in a better position right now. To be perfectly honest, the 10 week Summer Internship at State Farm is one of the best ways to get your feet wet as you matriculate from college to a Fortune 50 Company. As someone who many moons ago had the opportunity to intern for back to back summers in Claims and P&C Underwriting, I know how valuable the experience is. I am probably biased as I don't think there has been a Summer Intern Class like the one I was a part of in 1998 and 1999 that could boast that it had individuals who went to kindergarten, elementary school, junior high, high school, and college together, and some of those individuals are still with the Farm today in various positions throughout the company. Guess you can say, "I wouldn't be who I am if not for the chance that State Farm took on me as a young impressionable college kid!"

Love this! I interned with State Farm in college and the internship was one of my best collegiate learning experiences.
