INTERESTING PROJECT DEMO ON 🛜 PRODUCT MARKETING.
One of our 🙋♀️recipient’s project was to simplify product 💻marketing while guaranteeing 📉increased sales 🧾.
🛜 Product marketing is communicating a product’s unique value to customers 🛃. This means articulating what customers are struggling with ✅, how the product or service can solve their problems, and what sets the product apart in the market 💹.
How did she do? Did she capture your attention and shared a proper brand story 🎙️

Improve the product. Marketing becomes easier when you do that.
This is because by improving the product, you have more to list out as your Unique Value Proposition.
Product Marketing Tip: Let your customers tell the story.
Happy customers are better at marketing your product than you will ever be. Case studies and customer stories are often flagged as "high priority" in a marketing plan, but somehow other things seem to always get in the way. Even worse is when the team is cranking out a ton of great stories, but no one is putting them to use.
Be customer obsessed and prioritize customer stories. Make them a required part of every important marketing program, every launch, and every marketing team's mission.
In the world of marketing, your product isn't the hero.
.
.
Your customer is!!!
When you lead with the product, you focus on features and specs.
But when you lead with the customer, you focus on their story and how your product fits into it.
An excellent product marketing strategy starts with a deep understanding of your customer:
1. Who are they?
2. What do they want to achieve?
3. What's getting in their way?
Once you understand, you can position your product as the solution to their problems.
❌ Instead of, "Our product has X, Y, and Z features,"
✅ Say, "We help customers like you achieve A, B, and C."
This shift in focus is powerful because it resonates with your customer on a deeper level. It shows them that you understand them and are here to help.
So, this minor shift has elevated my product marketing efforts multifolds.

The Multifaceted Journey of Marketing Leadership
In today's ever-changing business environment, the role of a Marketing Leader has evolved, quite like project managers, rich in diverse competencies. Their command over stakeholder management, unmatched product insights, communication prowess, and sharp financial insight are instrumental in driving revenue and setting the business trajectory.
The nature of marketing leadership changes as organizational aspirations shift. Central to this role is a deep-rooted understanding of product management – from the intricacies of the shop floor to capturing the heartbeat of the end consumer.
A common mistake made is to keep Head of Marketing role skewed towards either Branding, Events, Digital Promotions or hardcore Product development on technical side.
This results in centralised decision making in strategy and lack of empowerment to marketing team to meet customer expectations in all respect in present and future.
Branding, Product , Strategy and Facilitation are different skills only found in Marketing Leader just like Director of a film who knows complete story to success of the film while other play their specialised roles in movie making project.
The essence of branding and communication lies in the subtleties of product design, its manufacturing process, and the journey of the raw materials that make it. This comprehension shapes both immediate and long-term market positions, defining the brand's soul.
Drawing from my extensive tenure as a Marketing Head, I've realized that a Marketing Leader embodies the spirit of a servant leader. They're agile coaches, guiding product and brand managers, along with other stakeholders, towards a unified goal: crafting a stellar product with a compelling market proposition. Their responsibility doesn't end at product creation; it's about delivering profitability while aligning with customer needs.
Moreover, a Marketing Leader vigilantly manages Project Creep, Eliminates unnecessary waste, resolves process blockades, and mediates team conflicts.
This ensures the team remains focussed concentrated, continually improving learning enhancing their approach to deliver products promptly, staying a step ahead of competitors in delivery to the market.
To sum it up, the expertise of Marketing Leaders isn’t confined to just product management. They are the strategic pivot, much like the hub of a wheel, deciding its pace, trajectory, and ensuring it reaches its destination managing time, cost , Margin , market share and customer expectations.

I had a conversation with April Dunford about where product marketing should sit in an organization.
"My opinion is that product marketing should sit in marketing, but only if the marketing leader understands product."
Ultimately, it depends on who has the right background to lead them.

Product marketing brings teams together with a shared goal, and a shared roadmap of how to get there. Everyone will know how much they need to sell, and how they can all help reach that target.
To make your product visible, marketing is very sacrosanct

💡This is why you should embrace product marketing:
1. Product marketing ensures that your existing and potential users understand the value of your product.
2. It fosters engagement with your users. They are more likely to reach out if they find your content interesting.
For example, at Qovery, we demonstrated how to use GPU with Kubernetes. This led to both existing and new users asking for more detailed information on its functionality and potential use cases.
Embrace product marketing! It’s a powerful sales tool.
I answered that Product Marketing is the center of the universe and the reason for every failure and win of every company! We're omnipresent and omnipotent!
A few days ago, I was interviewed about Product Marketing for an upcoming Product Management course. Can you guess what was the first question?
What is product marketing, how does it differ from general marketing, and what is the role of a product marketer in a company?
This is a relevant question because there's no single answer, and it shows the biggest problem of product marketing.
And you, are you flying too close to the sun?
Check the presentation for details on the problem and two possible ways out.

Product marketing is a misnomer. You’re not marketing your product, you’re marketing why your product exists and why your customer should care.
You’re telling a story and If you get it right the story becomes a roadmap to whatever new products and solutions you develop. Or don’t.
A smart, strategic story is the tip of the spear. It’s not just about what you do but about where you’re heading.
