I've had a hectic summer starting a new project... The Managing Managers podcast (https://lnkd.in/eeDHwY2Y). There are lots of resources for those transitioning to first-time leaders or managers. Still, in my training and coaching practice, I've noticed that managers who transition to managing other managers struggle a lot. I'm trying to bridge this gap by sharing the stories of those who have already walked that path in this project! You should be able to find this on most major podcast platforms (eventual consistency 😅) such as Spotify, Apple, etc, and details for each podcast on https://lnkd.in/eeDHwY2Y. I hope you can share it wider and helps leaders in tech to continue to #LevelUp 🎉.

Leadership isn't just about guiding a team; it's about fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and motivated. The recent HBR IdeaCast episode "Why Managers Play Favorites - and How They Can Change" with Ginka Toegel sheds light on an often overlooked issue: favoritism. Toegel highlights the importance of self-awareness and proactive strategies to mitigate favoritism. I highly recommend listening to this episode to understand better how impactful leadership can transform our management styles. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The number one thing a great leader does is unapologetically set high and clear expectations. Emphasis on the clear! Where do clear expectations come from? From proper and frequent communication. With clear expectations, you lay the foundation for a successful team. They drive alignment, accountability, and performance. Peter Stewart, PhD and I discuss this in further detail in Ep. 10 of The Leadership Growth Podcast. If you're interested in learning more about setting clear expectations for your team, I encourage you to take a listen. Apple Podcasts: https://hubs.ly/Q02ysw7q0 Spotify: https://hubs.ly/Q02yssj-0
