Why do they make their ads about men (and women) gathering to watch football instead of telling us the amount of malted barleys and hop extract used in brewing the beer? Reflecting on attending Sport Positive this week & a few of my key takeaways to share: - start where you can make the most meaningful impact. - jump the sponsorship person & go straight to sustainability for actionable conversations. - sport is the connective tissue that binds us together across & within communities. - an industry trend is a 15% weighting in tenders to sustainability. - no one has all the answers but collaboratively we can make progress. - of the last 19 Winter Olympics, only 50% of destinations would be viable locations in the future - climate change is very real. I‘d love to have seen a #sportsapparel #brand attending as there were a number of challenges raised regarding the impact & importance of sports apparel & merchandise / fan gear.
