Have you ever heard of the Formula Student? 👋 It's a competition between universities with the challenge of constructing a working prototype of a race car, similar to a Formula race car, and demonstrating its capabilities on the race track. One of the participants is the StarkStrom Augsburg e.V., an interdisciplinary project of the Augsburg University, which includes up to 70 students from all faculties. The students' goal is to compete annually in various Formula Student events held on renowned racetracks. For the development of such race cars, both regional and international partnerships, as well as cooperation with the university, are essential. And this year, one of the partners is #Stabilus. We are thrilled to support the team! 💪 Stabilus provides gas springs for precise and tactile control of the gas pedal, which is of great importance under extreme racing conditions. Through different force variants from the gas springs in the gas springs, the desired response behavior can be set up individually for each driver. We are excited to support the team of highly motivated students and wish them all the success for the races! Fingers crossed! We will keep you posted. 👀🏎️🏁 #YourMotionOurSolution #MotionControl

🏁Recent racing events in the Netherlands have generated considerable excitement. Even if racing and cars aren't your usual interests (though, let's be honest, they're ours 😉), the echoes of these events could be heard far and wide. 🏎️We at In Summa are in the middle of incredible initiatives happening at Benelux universities, particularly in the realm of student racing teams. A couple worth mentioning are the Solar racing team at TU/e (which has resulted in the amazing journey of Lightyear❤️) the uGent racing team at Ghent University or Forze Hydrogen Racing Team. 👉 This leads me to a captivating case study I came across this morning, showcasing how Romax Technology gearbox design software propels the University of Michigan's student Racing Team to success in the world of Formula SAE. Two highlights of the study are: 1. Opting for a compound planetary arrangement, the team utilized Romax Enduro to craft the most efficient and lightweight gearbox design ⚙️ 2. Hexagon's support extends beyond design to gear manufacturing. Through a partnership with Dontyne and connection to Hexagon’s QUINDOS software, Romax enables users to virtually manufacture gears. Check out the study here: https://lnkd.in/dxHDsUpK Hexagon offers diverse partnership programs tailored for bright minds in universities. At InSumma, as a business partner of Hexagon and various successful student teams, we genuinely believe in fostering and developing relationships with universities🎓 Get in touch with me to discover more about what we offer for the Benelux region. You never reach the stars unless you try 🚀 #gearbox #FEA #systemdynamics

Racing Aeolus: A Fusion of Innovation, Sustainability, and Team Spirit! 🌬️🏁 Ever heard of a race where the wind is not just a factor but the very essence? Welcome to Racing Aeolus Den Helder, one of the four largest sustainability races globally, held annually on the sea dyke of Den Helder, Netherlands. 🌟 A Brief History: The event kicked off in 2008, aligning with The Tall Ships' Races in Den Helder. Over the years, it has seen its share of challenges, from sponsorship issues to location changes. But the spirit of innovation and competition has never waned. The Gerard-Broers Innovation Award, introduced in 2014, commemorates the 2013 winner who tragically passed away. The event has also introduced a drag race since 2015. And guess what? In 2016, the WinDTUbineracer team from DTU - Technical University of Denmark achieved to drive faster against the wind as it was blowing. More than 100% of the windspeed! Sadly, the 2020 and 2021 editions were halted due to the pandemic, but since 2022 Racing Aeolus is back and Wind Powered Vehicles are currently competing in Den Helder again as always at the end of August. 🤝 More Than Just a Race: What sets Racing Aeolus apart is its ethos. It's not just about speed; it's about innovation, sustainability, and collaboration. It's a platform where students from various engineering disciplines come together, compete, learn, and grow. It's a testament to the power of collaboration, practical learning, and pushing boundaries. So, whether you're an engineering enthusiast, a sustainability advocate, or someone who loves a good race, Racing Aeolus is where the future meets fun! Join tomorrow for the final race day on the dyke in Den Helder. #RacingAeolus #Sustainability #Innovation #Engineering #TeamSpirit Hogeschool van Amsterdam, Universität Stuttgart, Team InVentus, École de technologie supérieure, Chinook ÉTS - Voiture éolienne , Fachhochschule Kiel Video (Drag Race competition) by Suell Mües

Great learning experience at the United Motorsports Academy F1 Aerodynamics and CFD Workshop! I'm thrilled to share that I completed an eight-hour online workshop on F1 Aerodynamics and CFD offered by the United Motorsports Academy. The workshop provided a deep dive into the world of Formula One car design, specifically focusing on the crucial role of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in optimizing aerodynamic performance. The instructors Punith Gowda and Shubham Sangodkar at the United Motorsports Academy were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their field. They shared a wealth of insights from the world of Formula One, giving us a glimpse into the cutting-edge techniques and technologies used by top racing teams. There was much inside information from the F1 world as both Shubham Sangodkar and Punith Gowda are F1 Aerodynamicists themselves and it was really fun to listen to them talk about their experience as well. The workshop covered a range of topics, including: 👉🏻The fundamental principles of aerodynamics as they apply to Formula One cars. 👉🏻The application of CFD in simulating airflow around a car. 👉🏻How CFD is used to optimize aerodynamic performance for different racing conditions. 👉🏻The challenges and considerations involved in designing aerodynamic components for Formula One cars. I found the workshop to be incredibly informative and engaging. The instructors did an excellent job of explaining complex concepts in a clear and concise way, even for those who may not have a strong background in engineering. Overall, I highly recommend the United Motorsports Academy's F1 Aerodynamics and CFD Workshop to anyone interested in learning more about this fascinating topic. It was a truly valuable learning experience that has given me a greater appreciation for the engineering marvel that is a Formula One car. It was a very great motorsports month for the Motorsports enthusiastic people and we learnt a lot from it so shout out to Shubham Sangodkar, Omkar Rane, Vishnu S and the whole United Motorsports Academy. #f1 #engineering #motorsports #Aerodynamics #cfd
