In the World Car Group Ranking for 2023, #Toyota dominates with a 3.3% increase, maintaining a significant lead over runner-up #Volkswagen, which has grown by 12.4%. #Ford has overtaken #HondaMotor in YTD sales. The report, sourced from registration figures across 159 countries, places Toyota Group firmly in the lead, selling 4.20 million vehicles, while Volkswagen Group comes second with 3.33 million sales. Following them are #Hyundai-Kia with 2.86 million sales, #Stellantis with 2.70 million sales, and #RenaultNissanAlliance in the fifth spot. #GeneralMotors and #Ford report 2.32 million and 1.6 million sales, respectively. Honda Motor ranks 8th, #Suzuki 9th, and #BMW holds the 10th place as the first premium group. The rising star is the Chinese #BYD, up four spots and now the World Leader among EV specialists, outperforming #Tesla with sales booming at 82.5%. Various regions saw different trends, with growth in the GCC, European Community, America, and struggles in Asia, Oceania, and the C.I.S. area.

" Alfa Romeo has decided to rename the Milano, the first electric car from the Italian brand, to Junior. " This is the Alfa Romeo Milano Junior, a new fully-electric crossover that promises to be ‘electric according to Alfa Romeo.’ Revealed in Milan, Italy, on 11 April, just four days later Alfa had to change its new model’s name to Junior, after objections from government officials infuriated that a car assembled in Poland was named after Italy’s second city. It’s a bizarre u-turn on the EV’s name, which was chosen by public vote. Alfa CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato said: ‘We decided to change the name, even though we are not required to do so, because we want to preserve the positive emotion that our products have always generated and to avoid any controversy.’ The revised name is one from the Alfa back catalogue, originating on the 1966 GT 1300 Junior version of the Giulia. That’s part for the course when it comes to Stellantis: we had a similar degree of uncertainty when it came to the Jeep Avenger, which arrived as an EV first, but later added hybrid and petrol power. Alfa Romeo Junior (2024-present): This was the name originally chosen for Alfa Romeo's new electric compact SUV that was unveiled in April 2024. However, due to legal restrictions on the use of the name "Milano", Alfa Romeo was forced to rename the car the Alfa Romeo Junior shortly after its debu Alfa Romeo 75 (1985-1992): This was a compact executive car produced by Alfa Romeo. In North America, it was sold under the name Milano from 1987 to 1989. For this, the Renault Group Alaskan Concept was nourished by the collaboration with the RENAULT NISSAN MITSUBISHI ALLIANCE, INDIA and vice versa for its flagship 1-ton product. Its platform and base is what is known in America as Nissan's Frontier. Its engine adopted Turbo and Biturbo solutions from the Rombo. Its peculiarity was that its name was chosen from the American continent as far north as Alaska. And its production in the traditional Santa Isabel Cordobesa Renault Argentina S.A where the plant was passed to the Japanese first cousin also to manufacture together as Frontier. A third product called x was to be built by Mercedes Benz as a strategic partner of the Extra Alliance. But then it was decided by the German authority to stop its manufacture to encourage Europe in its assembly and production. Have a look at the latest update about the automotive industry composition by car groups and their origin. Basically there are 31 main OEMs around the world in addition to around 70 other brands that don't make part of any big group. In total there are approximately 200 car brands today, excluding the some nice manufacturers like koenigsegg, Czinger, Zenvo, Noble, W Motors, Hennessey, etc. As you can see, many of these brands make part of Chinese OEMs, followed by Japanese, European and Americans. The Renault Group story is a mix of innovation, family drama, and a touch of French flair. Imagine Louis Renault driving his Voiturette up the steep Rue Lepic in Montmartre, not just to show off but to secure his first sale. It was the equivalent of dropping the mic at a Parisian salon. The Renault brothers weren't just carmakers; they were pioneers of the first Grand Prix races, essentially turning the streets of France into the Fast & Furious of the early 1900s. But it wasn't all smooth driving. World Wars saw the Renault factories pivot dramatically to produce tanks, airplanes, and even tractors, showcasing a resilience and adaptability that's quintessentially French. #MarketPerformanceUpdate Germany: · The German car market is going through turbulence. While the 6.2% decline can be partially attributed to earlier than usual Easter holidays, the KBA also reported a 28.9% shrink in #BEV registrations and an 8.5% drop in SUV/Offroad car registrations. 📉Meanwhile, small and compact car registrations increased by 6.3%. All this is evidence to car buyers opting for more affordable vehicles. 💰 · The impact is also visible on brand level: With SEAT,SA (+22%), CITROËN Deutschland GmbH (+92%) and Dacia (+2.5%) three brands with a value-for-money focus could grow against the trend. On the other hand, premium brands such as Mercedes-Benz Deutschland (-23%), Audi Deutschland (-38%), Mini Cooper(-34%) and Jaguar Land Rover Deutschland (-23%) all suffered significant losses. 📉 · Obviously, there is no rule without an exception: Volvo Car Deutschland recorded a 37% growth and BMW Group maintained the same volume as last year. ✅ #automotive #Deutschland

Australia remains one of the biggest markets for BMW M cars in the world, according to global BMW M boss Frank van Meel. In Australia for a flying visit, Mr van Meel told Drive our market ranks as one of the top markets in the world in terms of the percentage of BMW sales that are M cars. “[Australia is] in the top three [with] 25 per cent M vehicle sales,” Mr van Meel told Drive.
