As CVS Health works to build a world of health around every consumer, practices like utilization management allow us to improve quality and safety, enhance care coordination and enable better health outcomes for patients. Cathy (Mary) Moffitt, MD, FAAP, CHIE, Chief Medical Officer of Aetna, a CVS Health Company, recently shared with HealthLeaders, how utilization management is used as a powerful tool to ensure people receive the right care at the right time.
Sreekanth Chaguturu, Cathy (Mary) Moffitt, MD, FAAP, CHIE, I think you'd be interested in learning about a company we're working with, Xact Labs. In partnership with the National Switches, Xact will be embedding patient specific pharmacogenomic (PGx) clinical data into the prescription processing infrastructure which will allow for automated PGx data utilization for every prescription from any provider for the lifetime of the member. Xact's solution will cut costs and improve outcomes for Health Plans by automating the application of PGx-driven precision medicine data within the existing prescription medicine workflow, removing the historical barriers for the data to be acted upon by Providers, and improving capture rates for getting Members tested.

3wWith all due respect cvs ideas are good. And we have to be a great source for our patients but I think cvs should also look out for their current employees because with all the hours being cut to all stores nationwide I think it brings more anxiety and more stress to our daily lives. So cvs should be present and care for the patients and for their employees as well to be able to be good to take care of those patients. That’s what I think and it’s my own opinion on this topic.
