Insight: "Balancing the Scales. Mitigating Nurses’ Overload in CGTs for Sustainable Care" With multiple CGT clinical trials currently being conducted and an estimated 50+ CGTs forecasted to be clinically available by 2030. The growing prominence of CAR T therapies in oncology and the associated complexities are likely to exacerbate nurse burnout. Supporting oncology nurses is vital to ensuring people with cancer are appropriately cared for and guided through their individual journeys in a time of utmost need and vulnerability (Komatsu & Yagasaki, 2014). Call to Action: CGT manufacturers can help patients get access to these potentially life-saving treatments by involving nursing staff early and frequently during the design of product delivery platforms, including patient coordination, cell order logistics, patient education, monitoring, escalation, and the overall treatment journey experience. Nurses are knowledgeable about clinical and operational concerns that need improvement and, consequently, are in the best position to generate and evaluate practical options and potential solutions to improve efficacy and care processes. A few thought starters include: how might we; - Ease the intense workload on nurses caring for patients undergoing CGT. - Create educational opportunities to learn how to manage & navigate CGT. - Support nurses in the workplace by reducing stressors created by CGTs. #nurses #healthcare #oncologynurses #CART #UniversalCARtherapy #nurseburnout #CGT

Original article with the aim to build and validate a nursing care protocol to adult patients who suffered burns in a public hospital in the North region of Brazil and evaluate its applicability. Method: Methodological study that followed the steps: construction of the instrument; content validation using the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research & Evaluation II (AGREE II) assessment tool; and applicability analysis with a semi-structured questionnaire with the nursing team and by agreement and Kappa test. Results: In the situational diagnosis stage, the protocol was elaborated based on the literature review and validated by the specialists through the AGREE II instrument with a general content validity index value of 0.93 and through the analysis of applicability with Kappa test analysis, obtaining a value of 0.81, with almost perfect agreement. Conclusion: The protocol was structured with quality to guide the nursing team in assisting burned patients. Therefore, its use is indicated. This article aims to determine the validity and reliability of the Spanish version of the Nursing Delirium Screening Scale (Nu-DESC). Delirium is a neurocognitive disorder that commonly occurs in critically ill patients, characterized by disorientation, memory impairment, psychomotor agitation, confusion, and hallucinations. It can lead to prolonged mechanical ventilation, longer stays in Intensive Care Units (ICUs), increased risk of infections, and even higher mortality rates. The Pain Agitation Delirium (PAD) guidelines, the ABCDEF bundle, and the Humanizing Intensive Care Units (HU-CI) project all emphasize that the assessment of delirium, using validated scales, should be conducted regularly to enable timely preventive measures. Despite having various assessment tools available, they are not always consistently applied in some ICUs. Research involving nurses has identified barriers such as lack of knowledge, normalization of delirium symptoms, time constraints, among others. However, the role of nursing is of paramount importance in the assessment, prevention, and treatment of delirium, given their leadership in ICUs, involvement in decision-making, continuous communication with patients, families, and the entire healthcare team. Additionally, their constant presence with the patient facilitates early identification of signs and symptoms. It is essential for nursing to continue leading the timely detection of delirium using tools like the Nursing Delirium Screening Scale (Nu-DESC), which can help overcome most of the barriers that limit its detection. We invite you to review the full PDF article following this link: https://lnkd.in/g2MMUMpw #Nurse #Nursing #Delirium #Emfermagem #Enfermería #Health #Research
