The final stretch at Everton Stadium - the installation of our 6,000 precast elements is almost complete! What a great experience this has been and such a collaborative process with our client Laing O'Rourke. Using our bespoke Double-Terracing units compared to traditional single-step terracing has had many advantages for this project...
✅ Carbon Conscious Concrete environmentally friendlier solution - less concrete and steel, approximately 265 fewer loads to site and they contain 36% Ground Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag (GGBS).
✅ Horizontal joints were reduced by 50% which on Everton Stadium resulted in a saving of 17 kilometres of mastic sealing!
✅ Section properties provide a thinner, lighter, stiffer section which enhances performance in terms of strength, deflection and frequency analysis.
✅ Less units to manufacture, deliver and install, cutting crane time onsite which limits risk of down time due to wind especially important at Everton given it’s exposed location.
✅ Significant reduction to costs, on-site activities and associated disruption.
During the construction Banagher Precast Concrete are also providing raker beams, stairs, landings, vomitory walls, infill steps and even bridge beams.
This project is a masterclass in offsite using modern methods of construction - over 6,000 precast units have almost been installed on site, on budget and ahead of schedule.
This project has also been shortlisted for Best Use of Concrete Technology at the Offsite Expo Offsite Expo Awards this September, fingers crossed 🤞

1wConsidering the location and cost, it’s absolutely crazy we are not putting a roof on this stadium. I grew up a Packers fan going to the “frozen tundra” of Lambeau Field, and understand the emotional reason to preserve the heritage of the a weather advantage, but in this case, not acknowledging the harsh climate realities of Eerie County (multiple canceled/rescheduled games in the past 5 years) is a complete misuse of taxpayer funds.
