I’ll never take for granted the opportunity to pour into the lives of the next generation of leaders. Today, I had the privilege of sharing with Lawrence County Bulldogs football team. Here’s a snapshot of our conversation: • Every single day, you get two things: 1. A chance and 2. A choice. The choices you make after you get your chance will determine the quality of your life. • Hungry dogs run faster. Be grateful but never satisfied 1. You have to pay today for what you want tomorrow • Wake up every single day and plant seeds • the December’s state championship is won today 2. Wipe It Clean • Yesterday’s wins belong to yesterday. • What got you here won’t get you there • Commit to winning today instead of worshipping what you won yesterday 3. It’s Bigger Than You • Creating a mindset of service to the people around you • Every move you make impacts everyone around you

🏀 Inspired by tonight’s championship game, the close of #MarchMadness, and NC State's incredible Final Four run, I'm here to share a few takeaways from the #Pack I plan to apply to the other 11 months of the year.   1. Be Bold! Coming into the tournament, the NC State's Wolfpack was the ultimate underdog - when we all heard the rally cry “Why Not Us?” we were reminded that improbable does not mean impossible.   2. Know and Play to Your Strengths. Watching both the men’s and women’s teams hit their rhythm highlighted the importance of recognizing and leveraging individual strengths. Whether on the court or in the office, knowing when to pass the ball and when to take the shot yourself is a key to navigating challenging situations.   3. Don’t Let Your Past Dictate Your Future. Adopting Ted Lasso’s “Be a Goldfish” mentality, the Wolfpack didn’t let their season record define their trajectory. Though the men faced a rocky season and several challenging competitors, they clinched the #ACC trophy and proudly cut down the nets after the Elite 8 game last week. Alternately, the women had a great season and approached the tournament with continued grit and determination rather than overconfidence. We won’t get everything right, but if we focus on continuous improvement and being a great teammate, we will set ourselves up for future success.   4. Build a Legacy – Both teams set a precedent for excellence, painting a vision of what is possible for NC State’s basketball program. May 2022, I stood nervously in Dublin Square, ready to release my core team. It was my first Rotaract appearance as the President, and I felt a surge of excitement mixed with a healthy dose of newbie jitters.  But amidst the chaos, a thought flickered across my mind: I want to make a mark here. Call it manifestation, call it ambition, but that day, I planted a seed of desire. So, I took action. I devoured every Rotaract resource I could find. I volunteered with a fervor that surprised even myself. I sought out opportunities to contribute my ideas and skills to the club. 8th July 2023,  That wide-eyed newbie has been entrusted with an incredible honor – my club the Rotaract Club of Lala Lajpatrai College (Rclalas) was awarded the Best Club in the entire district 3141 amongst 140 plus clubs. This journey has taught me two invaluable lessons: * Manifestation is a powerful tool, but it thrives on action. Wishes alone won't propel you forward. Dedication, hard work, and a willingness to learn are the fuel that turns dreams into reality. * Never underestimate the power of initiative. Don't wait for opportunities to come your way. Last regular season home game today and we have to stand on business. No fumbling and we have to work as the greatest team in history. This is where true leadership and inspiration collides to leave it all on the field. Team sports are about bringing so many people from different experiences and walks of life together for a common vision and goal. Failing forward no longer becomes an option in these big time showdowns. Execution becomes key. This is where practicing like you play becomes the most important preparation. Lots of life lessons in my experience have come from team sports. Competitiveness is part of the 🧬. This is where we have to believe in the magic sauce. LETS GO DOLPHINS! Remember that awesome feeling you had?🏆 You have had successes in your life that have impacted who you are today. It may have been a Championship, earning a position you were seeking, acing that test, earning your first paid speaking engagement or landing your TedX. We ALL have had INCREDIBLE experiences in our lives at some point in time. One of those moments for me was competing with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Soccer team when we earned Big 12 Conference Regular and Tournament Championships. That team was very special. The feeling I had in this picture was one that I pull from when I want to feel UNSTOPPABLE. I remember when I was goalkeeper for this amazing team. I knew before I would go in that I was going to stop anyone that came into my 18 yard box. I decided before the game even started. It was my mission to not let goals in and be all I could be for my teammates. Whenever I need to feel UNSTOPPABLE I go back to my memories of when I felt that way. I feel it with all my senses. I can feel that CHAMPIONSHIP🏆. I can remember how that meal celebrating with my team tasted. I can see how my coaches looked at me. I remember my teammates hugs and how they felt. I can FEEL how cold it was in that day we won that Championship in 32 degree weather in St. Louis. I can hear the parents cheering. When I go back to past successes it makes me feel it all over again. It changes my state. I become INVINCIBLE and STRONG.
