We have exciting news to share! Last night, our very own Co-Chairperson of the Board at Special Olympics Kansas was promoted to the rank of Captain at the Prairie Village Police Department.
Join us in congratulating Adam Taylor on this well-deserved achievement! Not only does he lead with passion and dedication within our organization, but also the Prairie Village community. We're incredibly proud to have such an outstanding leader like him on our One Team.
Reclaim America from who??? I think the indigenous people should be the ones calling to reclaim America from Zionists white supremacy groups like the ones in the video below

Dan Meers goes to work each day like many other men, dressed in a suit. The only difference is that instead of wearing a tie with his suit, Dan wears a tail.
Dan is widely known as KC Wolf, the official mascot of the Kansas City Chiefs. He travels throughout the United States and the world to entertain thousands of people in and out of costume. His enthusiasm, optimism, and love for life are contagious and make Dan an inspiration to all those he meets.

A great video from the We're Right Here campaign; community leaders are ALWAYS in touch with their local communities.
Community leaders don't just pound the pavements in the run up to an election. They put the miles in, they put the time in, they know what they're talking about.
We're Right Here (and I) believe that people should have the power to shape their places and that communities should have the rights and tools they need to come together and take control of their own futures.
Follow this link for a super clear list of actions you can take to support their call for community power 👉 https://lnkd.in/euMAVCPp
It includes things like:
📩 A template letter for your local MPs
💬 A conversation guide
👏 A leaflet you can download and print
So much really helpful stuff!

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our esteemed President, Ben Latham. A true legend in the industry, Ben was a phenomenal leader, mentor, and friend to many. His legacy of integrity and dedication will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and Ben's impact on our lives will never be forgotten.
As we await details for memorial services, we ask that you keep Ben's family, and all those who cherished him, in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
In my Africana Studies classes the discussion would sometimes come up about the statement, “I don’t see color.” And the issue with that statement is, if you don’t see color, you don’t see me. Visibility is important, hints the quote, “You can’t be what you can’t see.”, and the saying, “Representation matters”. Both of which speak to visibility…. His response was very spot on and well put. We can’t fix issues that are not visible, and therefore are not seen. And I state both because, though some things are visible to someone, that doesn’t mean that they’re seen by everyone.

One of the pivotal moments that drove my pursuit of a career in the armed forces was in my high school AP US History class, I asked my teacher how was it that the US had been so successful when it was only a couple centuries old whereas so many other countries that had been established for so much longer were nowhere as powerful or stable? Without missing a beat, she responded “the fact that we have a new government every four years and the diversity of our people.”
Digesting this concept, we come to understand that the diversity fuels innovation that challenge preexisting notions and a systematic government overhaul carried out through democratic processes enables rational change to occur, with a balanced amount of constitutional conservativism to ensure our nation’s security.
These principles have guided our nation through tumultuous times. Although it’s hard to accept, at points throughout our history, the majority often argued in favor of unethical practices including the enslavement of other human beings, the sanctioned displacement of native populations from their homes, the prohibition of women’s suffrage, segregation (and sanctioned severe mistreatment) of non-white Americans, to list a few - all ideas into which the majority were indoctrinated. Although we had our hiccups, in all listed cases, we grew together as a nation based on objectively challenging those ideas and asking the hard questions: Does this really make sense? Is this fair? Would I be ok if I (or worse, my child) were born into that situation?
I strongly believe in the principles upon which my country stands and have faith that we will always come to the right ethical conclusion on all issues independent of predispositions in due time. It is our civic duty to stay informed, to keep asking hard questions, and to drive reaching the morally correct outcomes. “For in the final analysis, our most common link is that we inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children’s futures. And we are all mortal.”
Happy Veterans Day.
