From decarbonising our cities and reducing congestion to bringing new green local jobs and growth - cycling is an existing solution to some of the most pressing challenges Europe is facing today 🚲 🚲 #EUDeclarationCycling 👇
Mobility experts endorse the European Commission's Cycling Declaration as a key milestone for #cycling advocacy and climate action. “By recognising 🚲cycling as a standalone mode of transportation / the Declaration becomes not only a document but a lever for change…” 👉Find out more https://lnkd.in/e3D775fu #CyclingRevolution #ActiveTravel Eurocities

The IPPR slams the UK government for a 'shocking lack of progress' in enhancing street walks & cycling, amid growing activity inequality. Affluent areas thrive; deprived ones see a 2.5% drop in 7 years. Cycling levels fall by 29% post-Covid. Time for change is now! New research from the European Cyclists' Federation (ECF), a Brussels-based advocacy group, has confirmed that if a city has more bike lanes, more people will cycle. The results will give campaigners and urban planners a substantial footing to argue for more cycling infrastructure in towns and cities around the world. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eCzXNS24

It would be interesting to see what type of statistics on the following for Australia major cities would be like. Is it faster to travel on to wheels on the congested city roads? Do people agree more should be done to encourage cycling in cities? Do people feel comfortable teaching their children to cycle on the roads? Is high levels of traffic and lack of cycling infrastructure making it unsafe? I think you would positive results on all those questions for Australian cities. Time to put pressure on your local council and state representatives to take action.
It’s the Mayoral Elections in London today and we’re calling for an improvement in cycling infrastructure. 🚨It’s 40% faster to travel on to wheels on the congested city roads ✔️ 🚨71% of Londoners agree more should be done to encourage cycling in cities ✔️ 🚨34% of Londoners wouldn’t feel comfortable teaching their children to cycle on the roads due to high levels of traffic and lack of cycling infrastructure ✔️ This is your chance to advocate for active travel and cleaner air in the middle of a climate crisis 🌍 Will Butler-Adams OBE CEng FRGS FCGI FIMechE

Researchers at the University of Westminster have been tracking the progress of the scheme since its inception, and have now produced the strongest evidence yet of its success. As well as an increase in cycling participation, the health economic benefit over a 20-year period has been calculated at £1.056bn a significant return on the initial £100m outlay. The gains become most clear in Low-Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs), with a physical activity-related benefit of £4,800 per person over that 20-year period, which, even accounting for higher-spec LTNs, is a 42-fold return on the £112 per-person investment.

A recent tilting idea fromChina! https://lnkd.in/gfNhb-G4 I have describing a tilting tricycle as a tilting three wheel vehicle. My concept is called the Aileron trike. I now would like to call it a Bipedal Leanable Tricycle (BLT). It has major advantages over single track bicycles and multi track vehicles such as cars. I have developed this over 30 years and have new breakthroughs. You can actually do it without gyros and gyro actuators and mechatronic controls. https://lnkd.in/gj6YubXF note this video is 24 years old. You can see the later designs has E-asist. This system is a bipedal tricycle a minimalist just in time system. The human body is a minimalist just in time balancing machine. It can stand still and upright with a 3 point stance when stopped it can walk The front leanable wheels either are stopped or rolling. The lean attitude can be driven, locked, or free floating. You cannot have any greater efficiency. You can use as much mechatronic control as you would like. You can give an ETRIKE full active suspension. My tilt control system is Universal. It fits all weight class HPV ETRIKE IC Scooter Motorcycle weight and speed class. It is form factor planform and CG height independent. I call system The Aileron Trike. On a human power level mechatronics is not demanded. It is incredibly more fun with mechatronics. Nothing is hard if you know how. You can build a vehicle that is small (150lb) and restrict speed under 25mph with partial or full enclosure and ride in bicycle paths or inside giant malls like an electric mobility scooter or even on trains and subways. You can punch another button be able to run at highway speeds. It is transforming machine as in the movies. It is simpler than Gyro reaction wheel concept. It has the same overturn resistance on ice as Nexus concept and very recoverable. It is a wheeled version of a FPV drone. Humans can drive it intuitively since it a natural vehicle as the human body. It will scare you with its simplicity and failsafe built in. It is moron simple idiot and bullet proof but as sophistocated as the human body and mind since it is modeled after the human body. You can have 2 wheels in front or back it is your choice. I have an asssociate that has gained a grant to further develop the concept for market Demo! would welcome all qustions and critcism. Join the revolution. THINK MINIMALIST JUST IN TIME MACHINE THE MODEL OF THE HUMAN BODY. BIPEDALISM WITH A REAR WHEEL OR ITS REVERSE CONFGURATION. IT WORKS ANYWAY YOU WANT I
