This week at IBM Think 2024, I joined my friend Rob Thomas on stage to chat about #AI. Verizon recognizes the critical role of AI in enhancing operational efficiency, improving customer satisfaction, and gaining a competitive edge. Our commitment to becoming the #1 AI-applied company is already yielding results. I also joined Erik Schatzker on stage during Bloomberg’s panel 'To Go Boldly: Voyages into the AI frontier' to discuss the importance of understanding consumer needs. Our customers demand a fast, reliable network with excellent support, and AI helps us deliver on that promise. By deploying human-in-the-loop AI tools like personal research assistant, personal shopper and personalized experiences for our customers, we have streamlined processes, improved decision-making, and enhanced the overall customer experience. Lessons we have learned so far - Stop doing 100s of PoCs - Lead by frontline, not an AI Czar - Focus on partners - very few in the beginning Thanks to Rebecca Yeung and Brian Franz for their insights as well. Together, we can shape the future of AI.

1moYesterday I was sitting at a dinner party in Oakley CA. My Verizon phone was able to load a video while my friends ATT phone was spinning for minutes. We were in a small California town (not wilderness). Don’t over think the outcomes AI needs to drive Sowmyanarayan Sampath! Just focus on delivering a better service in every nook and cranny of this country…you will continue to win (which you are)! AI chat bots are cute, AI enabled improved user experience will continue to be the high order bit!
