Golf for the HEROs Vision and Motivation: Enhancing the Game of Golf: We aim to foster new relationships and enhance the game of golf through innovative tournament concepts that allow professionals to compete alongside beginners. Inspiration from Mentorship: Inspired by my mentor, Dick Garn, and his Oldsmobile Scramble, I designed the Big Blitz to provide a unique tournament experience leveraging modern technology. Key Features: Financial Structure: One of the most significant features of the Big Blitz is the ability to use 20% of the fees to support PGA HOPE, The HERO Project, and the Wounded Warriors Project while awarding 70% to the prize pool. This ensures substantial support for noble causes and a significant return for participants. Event Types: We offer various event types to cater to different preferences: $10 winner-take-all $10 and $26 events with one winner for every 10 participants $25 events with one winner for every 40 entries Inclusivity and Accessibility: The format includes a free-to-play component and ensures that participation does not impact amateur status, making it accessible to players of all skill levels. Global Reach: With the capability to access the tournament from a smartphone, our goal is to add a global component, connecting golf enthusiasts worldwide. Personal Commitment: Long-Term Dedication: I have been working on these ideas since the late '70s and am committed to their long-term success, believing in their potential to revolutionize the sport. Community and Relationships: Our project aims to bring people together, fostering new relationships within the sports communities. Call to Action: Support and Participation: We are now seeking support to publicize and expand the project. Join us on this journey, contribute to the growth of this innovative golf tournament, and help us support PGA Golf, The HERO Project, and the Wounded Warriors Project. Our website can be found at www.thebigblitz.com. Events are FREE while we build the members' roster. 🧩✨ #AutismAwareness Top 36 Golf Course Rankings: Post 20 - Course #17⛳️ 🧩 💰 DONATE - Please help us get there by donating $36 today: https://lnkd.in/e4MFcQfd To represent the 1 in 36 kids affected by Autism in the US, I will be counting down my Top 36 Golf Courses that I have ever played with a short story/memory for each. If you could please consider donating $36 (or more) to Els for Autism via the link above, I would appreciate it ❤️ Golf Course #17 - Ohoopee Match Club As we make our way to course #17, we go to play one of the newest golf courses on my list, Ohoopee Match Club. Opening in 2018, Ohoopee is found in the rural town of Cobbtown, GA and was designed by Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner. It is owned by successful businessman and golf enthusiast, Michael Walrath, who at age 32 sold his company, Right Media, to Yahoo. Often recognized by its unique “onion” logo, the land on which the course sits used to be a successful onion farm. This type of soil and dunes lends itself to be the perfect turf for excellent golf course conditions, often playing firm and fast to challenge the golfer’s creativity. The word that comes to mind when thinking about the Ohoopee experience is FUN - the lodging, food, service, caddies, and course are amazing and create a memorable weekend. One of the most unique things about Ohoopee is that the course has 22 holes in total with two different 18-hole routings, the championship routing and the whiskey routing, which enables you to have a totally different round while playing on the same property. One other unique aspect that caught me off guard is there are no tee markers. This is by design as the course is meant to be played with Match Play, allowing the golfer with honors to choose how he/she wants the hole to be played. I was amazed by Ohoopee and “the hang” it creates, which has proven to be the successful modern course model that many other courses now are trying to immulate. If you go to play Ohoopee soon, I have no doubt that you will have an amazing time ⛳️

Head of Foundation @ Manly Warringah Sea Eagles | Philanthropy, Fundraising, Marketing, Partnerships
How important is sport and physical activity to the development of our children? But have you donated to your local sports club lately? The Australian Sports Foundation provides you the the ability to make tax deductible donations to sport clubs. As a parent, football coach, player, and club administrator I know it takes good adults to help young people become the best they can be. It takes a village, right? We all know physical activity is integral to our health and wellbeing. We also know the many challenges to starting and keeping children and teenagers engaged in sport. Whether the young person is playing social, or organised grassroots sport, or at an elite level in National Rugby League AFL - Australian Football League Cricket Australia Rugby Australia National Basketball League (NBL) Netball Australia Tennis Australia Athletics Australia Football Australia or any other sport, our kids need our support. And done right, sport plays a hugely positive role in developing our kids - physically, mentally, and socially. In good times and bad. Good adults understand the need to mentor the next generation. If you’re still reading this, consider a tax deductible donation to your local or favourite sports club. If you’re a Manly Warringah Sea Eagles fan, come and play your part in helping the next generation soar. Donate now. Queries to foundation@seaeagles.com.au #ManlySeaEagles #NextGen #Donate
“They’re not alone, we’re here to help.” Geoff Toovey knows the game of Rugby League inside out; as player, coach, and now mentor to the next generation. A northern beaches local, Tooves played 286 games for Manly in an illustrious career. A tough as nails competitor, and premiership winning captain, Geoff also played 15 NSW State of Origin games, and was an Australian Kangaroo representative. He also coached Manly and took the team to the 2013 grand final. Now, Geoff is passing on his knowledge to help nurture the next generation of Sea Eagles players, developing them on and off the football field. Geoff and the team recognise that teenage athletes in a high-performance sporting environment need lots of support. They’re coaching technical skills, nutrition, prehab and rehab; but just as importantly mental resilience, education and employment, social skills and time management. These are the holistic life skills required to nurture the next generation of Sea Eagles. We’re aiming to help these young athletes be the best they can be, regardless of their eventual career paths. As a Sea Eagles fan, you can play your part. Help nurture the next generation by making a tax-deductible donation to the Sea Eagles Foundation. Watch them soar with the Sea Eagles. Passionate about helping solve complex problems, helping people pursue their dreams and fulfill their missions.
On behalf of Big-Brothers-Big-Sisters-of-Northeast-Wisconsin, Gallagher is taking part in Miles for Matches, and I’m asking for your support to help at-risk youth. It would mean so much to me if you could make a donation as our team bikes to help the future generations here in Wisconsin: https://lnkd.in/gBTvnzJz Research shows that children matched through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin's programs are more likely to remain in school, earn a college degree, improve social confidence and avoid risky behavior. Children in the #BBBSNEW program are: ~52% more likely to remain in school ~75% more likely to earn a four-year degree ~48% more likely to volunteer ~81% more likely to hold a leadership role in an organization In addition, an anonymous donor has generously offered to match donations raised during Miles for Matches! This means that every dollar donated will be doubled, making twice the impact on the lives of children in Northeast Wisconsin. If your employer matches funds, like Gallagher does, we stand the chance even to triple our impact! Again, your support means the world to me and to the children who need the positive impact of caring adult to help them unlock and achieve their full potential! #LifeAtGallagher Scott Sherman Christine Meyer Tom Lannen William Ziebell Adam Wolff
