There’s no reason you need to take a break from physical activity when the temperature drops. In fact, exercising in cooler weather has some distinct advantages over working out in warmer weather. If the winter weather prevents you from getting outside, don’t just reach for the remote. Make your time inside count. There are many ways to get physical activity indoors—no gym required. Hand weights or resistance bands are a great addition, but not necessary. You can also wear a heavy backpack to add intensity to your workout. BARBELL SAFETY - Etiquette How many people know the etiquette and safety around barbells? Our very own Aimee Heckel wrote an excellent article on this topic. Having worked out at the gym, I've witnessed all these scenarios firsthand. Why is this happening? Is it a "macho" thing or simply a lack of knowledge? I believe barbell etiquette should be taught from the beginning when introducing weightlifting. However, even adults often need reminders. Imagine if gyms required members to take a quick quiz on proper etiquette, much like the mandatory HR training videos at work. As you may know, I spent almost half a year traveling through Europe and I couldn't but notice how going and spending time at the actual place where the work is performed directly impacts customer experience. We visited a gym in every city we stayed in. Yes-yes, we like exercising. 1 𝑔𝑦𝑚 𝑎 𝑑𝑎𝑦, 𝑘𝑒𝑒𝑝𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑜𝑐𝑡𝑜𝑟 𝑎𝑤𝑎𝑦 kind of thing. So the gyms can be divided into 2 types: 👉Where the staff uses the gym to exercise themselves. 👉Where the stuff never goes past the reception desk. Guess what gym is better even if the equipment may be slightly outdated? If your resolution involves the gym, brush up on gym etiquette: 1. Ask staff for help, that's their job and they're happy to do it. 2. Don't stare. 3. Don't worry about how much anyone else lifts, focus on your own health 4. If you find yourself amassing a collection of dumbbells, put away all but the one set you need for your current rep. 5. Put your weights away, regardless of what "everyone else" does. 6. Wipe down the equipment. 7. You're paying for a membership, so act like a member. Help keep the gym clean and equipment in working shape. 8. Pain is just comfort leaving the body 😆 I've been told that the second Thursday in February is known as "quit day". Do with that what you will.

Here’s how I manage my time effectively… We all have 168 hours in a week Calculate the time you spend on the mandatory tasks: ~>👨✈️Job ~>📝School ~>💪Gym ~>🚿Hygiene ~>🍱Eating ~>➕Etc. Whatever time you have left is your time to build. This will completely fix your perspective on how much time you actually have.
