Its important for our companies, both big and small to incorporate human rights frameworks to doing business. The UNGP and ESG go a long way to creating that human rights consciousness within the value chain of work. The fact remains that several companies already have bits and pieces of what these frameworks entail, however, there is need for more specific interractions on all that the UNGPs and ESG can do to redefine human rights within the scope of doing business in Nigeria and across Africa. Targeted work is on-going in Uganda as a total of Euros 166.5 million was committed by the European Union towards strengthening sustainable businesses in Uganda and the implementation of business and human rights received Euros 5 million.
