Hurry up, the future is coming ! Flying cars are no longer science fiction! The aerospace industry is starting a new chapter with the development of urban flying taxis. Sonaca is proud to announce that it has been selected as a strategic supplier by Wisk, a leading Advanced Air Mobility company. Sonaca teams will develop and supply major structures of this autonomous flying taxi. With this design and build contract, we are starting a new chapter into the air mobility industry. This is a major step forward in Sonaca diversification strategy and an unique opportunity to develop new capabilities within a challenging timeline. #aerospace #engineering #production #innovation #sustainable
Congrats
A flying car must be capable of operating on the road - future pioneers including the likes of PAL-V etc. This is by no definition a car and should not be misclassified as such even if the 'flying taxi' moniker seems to have stuck.
Showcase for Belgian innovation in aerospace. Congrats!
Its electrifying!
3moFlying cars have been real since the first flight of the Waterman Arrowbile in 1937 and the type certification of the Taylor Aerocar in 1956. Even manned eVTOLs date back to the flight of the PKZ1 in 1917. The Wisk Gen6 is a flying sled, not a roadable aircraft (flying car), and has yet to make its first flight, while the EHang (NASDAQ: EH) 216S has already been type certified and is entering commercial service in China.
