I am excited to share the news of the sale of Solar Roof Dynamics (SRD) to Go Green Solar. I founded SRD back in early 2013 to help transition traditional roofing contractors into the solar industry. Over these past 10+ years, SRD has helped over 35 roofers across 8 states become solar contractors. We have driven sales of over 16 MW of solar equipment and services to over 2000 end customers. Most of these roofing contractors now have thriving solar businesses that are diversified and well positioned to weather both the seasonality and cyclicality of the roofing and solar industries.
I have seen it many times over, and I remain convinced that when done right, roofing contractors are the best positioned trade to be successful in rooftop solar. While pure play solar companies continue to struggle with high customer acquisition costs, roofing contractors have among the highest referral rates and the lowest customer acquisition costs within the solar industry.
GoGreenSolar is a company providing best-in-class products and services to small contractors and DIY homeowners throughout the United States. Similar to Solar Roof Dynamics, GoGreenSolar makes it easier for traditional trade contractors, including roofing, electrical, and HVAC contractors, to add solar into their businesses. In addition to providing solar equipment (in kits or in bulk), they also offer a full suite of support services, covering engineering and design, permitting, technical, and interconnection.
