'Wear it Green' for Mental Health Awareness Week Today, I am wearing green to shine a light on the mental health challenges faced by many in the UK. As Mental Health First Aid Training providers, we are dedicated to supporting this cause and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health issues. Too often, individuals struggle in silence, hesitant to seek help or speak openly about their experiences. As a workplace or organisation, it’s crucial to foster a positive environment for mental well-being. What steps are you taking this week to enhance workplace wellness? This year's theme, "Movement: Moving more for our mental health," encourages us to integrate physical activity into our daily routines to boost mental health. On this International Mental Health Day I'd like to share a quote by Mental Health America, taken from their article enclosed to this post. "According to research, employees who experience feelings of inclusion in the workplace are associated with a positive workplace culture and increased employee engagement. Developing a meaningful mental health strategy with #Diversity, #Equity, #Inclusion, and #Belonging in mind affects the culture, employees’ feelings of confidence and inclusion, and opportunities available to employees with diverse backgrounds."
