The issue also offers plenty for self-reflection with contributions focusing on what it means to be a work and organizational psychologist from academic and practitioner perspectives and to develop the future of WOP. Industrial Psychology Honours Student at North-West University/ Noordwes-Universiteit | Emerging Psychometrist | Aspiring Industrial Psychologist
Perhaps in a bid to make psychological services more accessible to the South African populis and at an earlier juncture for both the client and prospective professional, is the proposed new HPCSA Framework counterintuitive? As a postgraduate student who will be trained largely in psychometry, and aspiring Industrial and Organisational Psychologist I can't help but to be nervous about the shifting landscape. Will this affect my employability, career options locally or abroad and impact my earning ability as a future independent practitioner? Or will this completely force me and many others away from the psychology profession altogether, thus in itself create the very same problem the proposed new HPCSA Framework is trying to solve for? My takeaway lesson is this: reverse engineering is an underrated and rarely celebrated strategy, for purposes of finding inconsistencies or, generally speaking, self-authoring. For one to identify the space of possible environments one could be in, locate yourself in the relevant one, and frame the new problem as it exists relative to your location in this new or future environment. With this, moving forward, you'll most likely be successful in moving toward the desired outcome or destination. https://lnkd.in/e6hrbVfr
