Founder & CEO @ R-Founders | Community and platform for those who are taking their products Global 🚀 | Expertise sharing with the focus on practical depth | 🌐Digital nomad | TEDx Speaker 🎤
You ever feel like 'Community' has become one of those words? Overused, but often misunderstood. As if there’s a magical recipe somewhere that instantly transforms any group into a tight-knit community. (Spoiler: There isn’t.) 😉 When brands or solo-founders slide into my DMs with the big ask, “How can we craft a community?”, I have to hold back. Not because I'm hoarding secrets, but because shaping a community isn't a 2-hour crash course. It's a product journey—rich, deep, and oh-so-involved. Quick Reality Check: A well-marketed audience does NOT equal a community. Your 5K followers on Telegram? Awesome! A community? Maybe not. I learned this the hard way, and trust me, folks catch on quicker than you'd think😅 Creating a community that's more than just a buzzword, one that resonates, thrives, and adds value? It’s akin to building a startup. You need funding, a devoted team, and, yes, a lot of heart. My squad at R-Founders? A dedicated team of 10 (and counting). And yet, sometimes the chatter outside feels like all we did was start a few chat groups. Classic, right? 😆 Here's my two cents: A community is as much a service as it is a heartspace. It has users with real needs. Without a committed lead and a team with their gaze fixed on the community’s goals, the ship’s bound to drift. If you're looking to treat community-building as crafting a product, brace yourself. It's intricate, challenging, and a roller-coaster of emotions. But when the pieces fit, it's pure magic🌌 P.S. Meanwhile two startup gals ditch avocado toasts for Armenian-Lebanese delights! Thanks to Julia Shmyrova for pushing my culinary boundaries while I'm here clinging to my avo-toast comfort zone 🤷♀️😂

One of my social media tips for businesses and startups. Hop on a trend and be weird about it. Jumping on a trend might help you get noticed by people who don’t already know you, and putting your own spin on it will set you apart from other people posting that trending topic. Do it. Be a little weird. And if it doesn’t work, you can always delete the post. #StartupLife #SocialMediaMarketing #Success
Summer Poletti on Instagram: "If you’re new, get on here and post. You won’t have a big following yet, so it won’t matter if post a reel that flops. Few people will see it and fewer will remember. Hate it a lot? Delete it. The more you post the more ideas you’ll get, the more you’ll figure out who you are in this space. And that’s important for differentiating. A lot of people are trying to make m

Tech people from indie makers to VC-backed founders are taking themselves too seriously Too many people shitting on each other for trivial things “Oh you’re building a SaaS boilerplate? Weak” “Oh you’re just a ChatGPT wrapper? Meh” “Oh you don’t have an audience? Fuckin loser” Just have fun and add some joy to the world, is it so hard? If you’re so smart, why aren’t you fun? We need to start a “Funtech” movement where the discourse is around creativity, building fun stuff, and bringing a bit of joy to this world Funtech is the way forward

🚀 Wise words from Mark Cuban: Always wear a smile and be kind. In the dynamic world of startups, building meaningful connections is vital. Being kind not only earns respect but also opens doors for collaboration and support when you need it most. Even on tough days, remember the power of a smile. So, whether you're meeting someone in person or online, let your kindness shine through. It's a small gesture that can make a big difference. 😊 #StartupLife #KindnessMatters https://lnkd.in/dT3Jiaup

Patreon just announced that they're going "all in" on community by giving fans their own space to chat and connect. We ❤️ a community-led company, so we took a closer look at how they're doing this and the ideas behind their strategy: 1️⃣ In their blog post, Patreon emphasized that it’s "harder than ever to be a fan in a world where algorithms prioritize consumption over connection." 2️⃣ So, they wanted to find a way to "give fans a space where they can truly experience community by introducing new features and tools that’ll bring fans closer to creators and to each other." 3️⃣ The solution? Member profiles and community chats, "two new features that will help members build stronger relationships with creators and with each other." Jane Nadaraja (Creator Programs & Development at Patreon) posted about the news, and we couldn't agree more: "Connection is the best part of what the internet has given us, and in a world where social media and attention-obsessed ad revenue-driven culture reigns, I have always been proud of Patreon's mission to empower and build sustainable businesses for creators. We need more positive community experiences for fans and creators." We're all about powering positive digital experiences and communities at Amity with our ready-to-use social features. So a big kudos to everyone at Patreon for the amazing work they're doing! 👏 #community #digitalcommunity #communitybuilding
