Co-founded by IFC - International Finance Corporation and the European Investment Bank (EIB), the Global Emerging Markets Risk Database (GEMs) has released its first publication on recovery rates for investments with private and sub-sovereign borrowers in emerging markets for 1994-2022. This report, aiming to support investment in these regions, shows that emerging economies might not be as risky for investments as previously thought. The data, gathered from 19 multilateral development banks and development finance institutions, provide insights into recovery rates, complementing the default statistics reports from 2023. This effort is part of GEMs' commitment to enhancing investment flows into emerging markets by offering reliable credit information 🌍💼.
