Given the extensive coverage by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism on the importance of user needs, here is a mini-guide for those who wish to understand what they are! In the Digital News Report 2024, released this week, the User Needs Model 2.0, which we developed in collaboration with Dmitry Shishkin, is used to ask news consumers about their expectations from the media.
