Globalization Director at King Team Xbox 👾-Microsoft, author of the Blog yolocalizo.com, Mentor Toastmasters Coordinator and Researcher at Nimdzi
This summer, which apparently still has some hot days left since, as I write this post, the thermometer reads 32 degrees, has allowed me to reread some of my favorite books. One of those books is 'What Leaders Really Do?' In this post, I adapt the ideas from that book to explain the differences between Localization Management and Localization Leadership. While it's true that each company and team requires different things depending on their current situation and strategy, I often observe in the #Localization industry that it's not always clear which tasks fall under the umbrella of management and which fall under leadership. --- Leading or Managing? What does it mean in the Localization industry? https://lnkd.in/d4ZExaig Hopefully, this post can help us understand when we need to wear the hat of Localization Managers and when to don the hat of Localization Leaders. If you can think of more differences, please add them in the comments to make the list more comprehensive 😊

Soo.... I'm on a journey right now that's all about growth, both personally and professionally. They say the best investment you can make is in yourself, and I'm fully embracing that mantra. On top of staying on top of my industry, here's what's on my plate: 🔹 Leadership Skills: I'm diving deep into honing my leadership capabilities that I've learned throughout the years. It's all about creating and inspiring teams, making impactful decisions, and steering projects to success. I believe great leaders are made, not born, and I'm committed to becoming the best leader I can be. 🔹 Sales Strategy: Developing a robust sales strategy is like mastering chess. It requires foresight, adaptability, and understanding the psychology of your opponent - in this case, the market. I'm exploring new techniques and methodologies to enhance my sales approach, aiming to connect more authentically with clients and drive meaningful engagements. I don't want to just push product, I want to provide a solution for those who need it. 🔹 Language Learning: Advanced Portuguese: I'm already fluent, but I don't practice enough so I'm taking my Portuguese to the next level! The ability to communicate more fluently is opening up new avenues for connection and understanding in both my personal life and the business realm. Most of my clients now speak Portuguese ! Beginner Japanese: Konnichiwa! 🇯🇵 Embarking on the journey of learning Japanese from scratch. It's challenging but incredibly rewarding. The aim? To break down language barriers and embrace a culture that fascinates me deeply. Visiting Japan is on my bucket list and I don't want to hit the Translate button every second ! This blend of leadership development, strategic sales thinking, and language learning is my trifecta for personal and professional growth. It's a reminder that learning never stops, and there's always room to expand our horizons. I'm curious – what skills are you currently developing? Any courses or languages you're diving into? Or am I crazy & alone for doing all of this?? 🚀 #LifelongLearning #LeadershipDevelopment #SalesStrategy #LanguageLearning #PersonalGrowth

#1 Bestselling Author & Founder of The Leadership Evolution Program | Nationally Recognized Executive Leadership Coach | Expert in Leadership Development and Emotional Intelligence | CEO & President of Winning Ways Inc.
Here at Winning Ways, Inc, we talk a lot about the critical role that emotional intelligence (EI) plays in effective leadership. This is especially true when it comes to communication. If you know what motivates those on your team, you can better connect with and engage them. Research has identified motivators that are gender- and culture-neutral, along with the words to use with each type. 📍𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 - The always curious life-long learners among us respond well to words such as learn, smart, understand, know, knowledge, meaning, expertise, and subject matter expert. 📍𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒔 - People who are ambitious respond well to ROI, practical, useful, make money, achieve, succeed, invest, bottom line, to the point, practical, save, and deal. 📍𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 - Our creatives have a deep appreciation for art and nature; they respond to create, beauty, artistic, appreciate, save, harmony, nice, balance, downtime, and enjoy. Think about who on your team is motivated by learning, results, and beauty and balance. Make a note to use the above words when communicating with them - you might be surprised at the difference in engagement levels you see! #SelfAwareness #EmotionalIntelligence #GTNCoach

I am an analytical thinker with a developed ability to deconstruct and reconstruct concepts in innovative ways. My approach to challenges is comprehensive; I consider all perspectives to determine the most effective solutions. My strengths lie in applying logical reasoning, objectivity, and intellectual insight to my endeavors. As a fervent advocate for design thinking, I believe that full immersion is essential for understanding complex situations, which is a critical step towards finding solutions. Collaborating with others and expanding my network are activities I relish, as I am convinced that effective leadership and influence are rooted in strong connections. For me, in-depth research is indispensable, as facts require statistical and data-driven support for validation. With a university degree in English and Literature Studies, complemented by a background in Communication and Media, my goal is to assist organizations in enhancing their listening, speaking, and writing capabilities. I pride myself on being detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, and an adept time manager. My enthusiasm is boundless, and I believe that with enough determination, any obstacle can be overcome. I am committed to lifelong learning, embracing the cycle of learning, unlearning, and relearning. "Never settle and stay calm in the face of adversity" is my personal mantra, akin to the philosophy of 'Hakuna Matata.'
