Focus on Collaboration, Not Competition Why should you focus your team on collaboration and not on competition? While some leaders believe that competition drives better performance, studies show that most team members are motivated to win together. So why incentivize pitting people against each other? Here are three tips to focus your team on collaboration, not competition: 1. Use scorekeeping to drive excellence 2. Set everyone up to win 3. Focus on winning the customer By supporting your team and collaborating with each other to win, it’s going to build even stronger team bonds, and they’re going to want to be loyal to one another and win together. That’ll help you generate better numbers as well. Collaboration is an essential way to achieve success, whether it's in your personal or professional life. Working together as a team can lead to more innovative ideas and solutions that can help you reach your goals faster. Therefore, it’s important to consider collaboration as an effective way of achieving success rather than solely relying on competition. By doing so, we open ourselves up to new opportunities, diverse perspectives, and experiences that ultimately lead us to our desired outcomes. Now that you have figured out how to get your team focused on collaboration, it might be time to work on some of your other leadership skills and abilities.
