When friends and family ask me what the cruise industry/my job are like, I answer with many things on this list. 24/7 commitment being onboard, always prepared and ready to go, detailed oriented, guest experience oriented, physical stamina, multitasking, managing logistics, the list goes on. When they ask me why I do this? Well that’s easy (and maybe cheesy), it’s the most important on this list. IT IS REWARDING. I am driven to this industry for immediate results working with other professionals and guests. Creating unique and memorable experiences for all that can be shared amoung individuals, a group, or stories told back home. It makes my day hearing compliments about crew onboard, the best cuisine they’ve had, nightly entertainment that brought back memories, and the adventures that they have in different ports. You have to give in order to receive, and in the hospitality industry what you receive is tenfold.

If you could reduce the stress for everyone in the hospitality industry do it. It involves a little planning. front desk if you could fax all reservations to the government organizations that need the reservations instead of them picking it up every evening they come in the morning to give the food vouchers and again in the evening ok make it simple food Vouchers at a restaurant need not be handled by the hotel. Food vouchers can be faxed to the restaurant with guest name and room number the guest on arrival uses the room number to get his food at the restaurant show them the room number. example : room 3 has #3 on his room key printed so they know it's the person from your hotel who has a voucher for food.
