Chairman, CEO, Director, Non Executive Director, Investor, Advisor, Flexible Working Advocate, Fundraiser
As we prepare for the Fundraising Institute Australia conference this week, I was talking to a client about catching up in Brisbane. We discussed the challenges being faced by organizations and the topic of telephone contact rates came up. "oh, that doesn't matter to us as we pay on a cost per contact" Using mt best diplomatic skills, I countered that this is flawed logic. Contact rates deliver yield from your precious internal data, doesn't matter if its once off gifts to RG, upgrades, reactivation or bequests. Contact rate is critical in maximizing a finite data source. In relation to Regular Giving Acquisition from digital leads, its just as critical. Often 50% of the cost of a two step acquired donor is the lead cost, (contacted on not) so contact rate drives ROI as much as conversion and average gift. If you think you might be missing out, please come and chat to me at the conference on Thursday. #unity4 #contactcentre #fundraising #contact #roi

Change Maker / Domestic Abuse Awareness Raiser / Gentle Man Champion / Non-Judgmental Ally / Courage Capacitor / Healthy Relationships Advocate
Yesterday was a good day. An informative day. A thought provoking day. Thank you so much to Susan Bright and the inspiring team at Employers' Initiative on Domestic Abuse for inviting me to join in the conversation on Addressing Perpetrators of Domestic Abuse. Thank you to those partners and amazing ambassadors I met too. Hearing your stories is incredibly inspiring and motivating. Employers have such an important role to play in disrupting unhealthy cycles that support a healthy life for employees and their families. A conscious, well informed employer is vital. Clarity and transparency can create an environment in which employees know what is expected and how to get support when needed. The workplace is where a survivor might find their voice & break their silence. It might be their safe place. Or the place where they find resources and options to build resilience and for making decisions that prevent further harm. For an employee who is struggling to cope in some way, work could be the place they start the conversation about getting the support they need in making healthy decisions. A conversation with a colleague, supervisor or HR professional could make the difference to disrupt harmful patterns before they escalate into abuse. A work culture that encourages disclosure is essential. Policies and procedures that support all appropriately, consciously and responsibly are fundamental. Without these factors, abusive cycles can be left unchecked and unaddressed. As with all purposeful conversations, I left with my curiosity pinging questions in my mind about how we all can be in the business of addressing domestic abuse and supporting all those impacted by domestic abuse. The more we ask and listen, the more we learn... The more options open up to us for playing our part in protecting victim survivors and nurturing positive sustainable change for all.
We are delighted to invite our members to our next #networking event, which will focus on addressing #perpetrators. The event is hosted by Cushman & Wakefield on 21 September from 10:45am - 12:45pm. This is an in person event only, and is a great opportunity to connect with other employers and discuss best practices to address perpetrators of domestic abuse. We will also host Hestia Charity’s latest Everyone’s Business Awards. EIDA members can register here: https://lnkd.in/epGyxyc5 Not a member of EIDA yet? Today is the 27th day of February 2024. In another couple of days, the month will be over. If you are yet to set up a system to win corporate sponsorship consistently, there is still hope to do so. As I would always say, sponsorship is always available if you look hard enough. The question is, how hard are you looking? Today will be a good day to answer this question and determine to create an execution schedule that will guide you through your outreach. Fundraising success isn't a product of magic, miracles, or luck. It is a product of the effort you put in. Determine to put in the effort that will make a difference for you for the coming month of March.

CSR Specialist | Programme Development and Execution | Risk analysis and mitigation | Result Base Management IN CSR | SRHR | Employee engagement in CSR.
The interconnectedness of fundraising in the social sector and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR can result in a win-win situation, as they both aim to address social and environmental issues while contributing to the well-being of communities. The social sector often relies on funding and support from external sources, including corporations engaged in CSR activities. Conversely, companies can fulfil their CSR objectives by partnering with social sector organizations. Both fundraising in the social sector and CSR initiatives have a direct impact on society by addressing critical issues such as poverty, education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and more. CSR activities can enhance a company's reputation by demonstrating a commitment to social and environmental causes, which can attract socially conscious consumers and investors. Further to achieve maximum benefits for both businesses and the social sector, it's crucial to align their activities effectively. My PhD thesis is primarily focused on this aspect, and I am available to address more on this topic in future.

Looking forward to this - the in-depth training currently being provided to purchasers on procurement reform does not extend to bidders … but the rules are there to protect their interests … ! It is essential that all bidders understand the new procurement reforms in order to create a balanced and effective procurement system - how will we achieve this if only one side of the table knows the rules of the game?! If you are a SME bidder come and network with peers and get to grips with the new rules that will have a direct impact on your pipeline with the public sector! #procurement

As Urbano Network and Talent Lab, we have a long track record of encouraging and helping SMEs to gain new business opportunities through public sector procurement, whether through direct tenders or as part of supply chains. On Thursday June 13th, we are hosting a speaker panel breakfast event to look at three key areas and how they will affect SMEs. - How will the new flexible procurement regime work in practice? - How will the new act help SMEs win more places on supply chains and work through direct tendering? - The role of social value in the new procurement landscape Our panel is Rebecca Rees, Head of Public Procurement at Trowers & Hamlins, who will provide an overview of the new regime; Caroline Brock, Director of Urbano Network & Talent Lab, who works with a variety of large and small clients to help them win work through the public sector and Matthew Grenier, Director from HACT, the social housing charity. If you are a director of a SME looking to win work in the public sector, manage supply chain opportunities for a large company, or work with a public organisation that looks for suppliers through tendering, please book to be a part of this free event. https://lnkd.in/dBqZVDH6

Industrial Management Engineer| Tech Strategy & Advisory Analyst @ Accenture >| Vice-Director External Relations @Thirst Project
Think deeply about your value proposition, because that’s what matters. 🗝️ Selling is the lifeline for any business. Selling to customers, investors, friends, and family is not an easy task (most of the time). This is especially true if you are a non-profit that depends on the kindness and goodwill of others. Recently I had the opportunity to join Thirst Project Portugal as a part of the External Relations department. It is an honor to serve such a cause as is the Global Water Crisis in the biggest youth community in the world. Initially, and due to the fact the Portugal team has already finished 7 water projects in only five years🤩, I thought selling this cause would be a piece of cake. Well, I was wrong. I rapidly came to the realization that in order to sell our mission we need to aim for the right organizations, the right targets, and the right people. 💫The outreach strategy is more important than anything and we focus our efforts on very specific partners and sponsors that we can trust and rely on. For us, it is all about helping 785 million people who don’t have access to potable water. Sometimes it’s frustrating to hear so many no’s, but when you finally reach the yes, it’s all worth it. (Please feel free to send a message if you want to help this cause, everybody can make a difference)
