🏅EODev winner of Bpifrance's “First Factory” call for projects At the Viva Technology trade show, held in Paris from May 22 to 25, Roland Lescure, Minister Delegate for Industry and Energy, Marina Ferrari, Secretary of State for Digital Affairs, and Bruno Bonnell, Secretary General for Investment unveiled the winners of the “First Factory” call for projects launched in 2022.  🎯 As part of the France 2030 investment plan, this call for projects aims to accelerate the emergence of first successful industrialization projects by industrial start-ups or innovative SMEs/ETIs. In September 2023, EODev applied with a project to establish a factory located in the town of Antony, in the Paris Region area.  This new plant will meet several objectives: 👉 Housing the production of our mobile, stationary and marine hydrogen fuel cell power generators  👉 Supporting our growth in France and worldwide while creating jobs in the region  👉 Bringing together all our employees currently spread across two locations In addition to the support from the Région Île-de-France in R&D, EODev was assisted in its search for a location by their investment and territory semi-public company.  The high quality of the project was highlighted by Roland Lescure, Minister Delegate for Industry and Energy, as well as its ambition, which aligns fully with the objectives set by France 2030.  🙏 We are proud and honored to have received the support of Bpifrance. Today, EnergyVille hosted a Senior Delegation of Masen in Genk. This was organized in the framework of their visit to Flanders full of discussions with Flemish stakeholders, all coordinated by Departement Kanselarij en Buitenlandse Zaken & Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT). This fits in the country strategy agreed with the Government of #Morocco 🎛️ We showed #lab #infrastructure from VITO , imec and UHasselt. 🛠️ We also discussed future #collaboration opportunities. We are already working together with this state-of-the-art research institute on #microgrids and #decentralized energy.

That is why Hamburg is driving the development of a competitive green hydrogen economy forward.  Together with strong partners from industry, science, and politics such as Luxcara, Hamburger Energiewerke GmbH, Gasnetz Hamburg GmbH, HHLA Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG, Hamburg Port Authority (HPA), Air Products, Airbus, ZAL Center of Applied Aeronautical Research, ArcelorMittal, Linde, Mabanaft,  Erneuerbare Energien Hamburg (EEHH), and hySOLUTIONS GmbH,  Hamburg is building a hydrogen network of short distances. The aim is to decarbonise the port, industry, logistics, and aviation sectors as well as to modernise local infrastructure. A multitude of projects, initiatives, startups, and collaborations with stakeholders from the entire value chain are currently underway, with additional ones in the planning stage. To address the shortage of green hydrogen, efforts at the moment are focused on increasing production and import capacities. The Port of Hamburg serves as a key player and the central hub. With its efficient logistics infrastructure and status as Northern Europe's largest industrial area, it offers prime facilities for importing, storing, and distributing hydrogen. We mentioned it recently but now it is official: Skeleton Technologies will expand in Estonia and invest over 33 M EUR in hydrogen-specific R&D for mobility and heavy-duty applications. This project is part of the pan-European hydrogen programme Hy2Move, in which, in addition to Skeleton, industrial giants such as Airbus, BMW and Michelin participate. We are very grateful to benefit from the support of the Estonian government. Skeleton has expanded across Europe, but we are and will remain an Estonian company. Pan-European cooperation is necessary if Europe wants to compete with the US and China. Estonian software and engineering talent, paired with the burgeoning hydrogen ecosystem, offers a great growth opportunity for us. The Hy2Move IPCEI has been prepared by seven Member States: Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovakia and Spain, to foster collaboration between European companies and support innovation across the entire hydrogen mobility value chain. They will provide up to €1.4 billion in public funding, which should leverage a further €3.3 billion in private investment.

Automotive Energy Supply Corporation (AESC) is a manufacturer of lithium- ion batteries for electric vehicles, established in 2007 as a joint venture between Nissan, and Tokin Corporation. Since 2018 Chinese company Envision is a strong partner in the joint venture. Its UK activities include EV factories built in Sunderland, England. According to AESC, the Sunderland plant, operational since 2012, was Europe’s first and the UK’s only EV battery factory for over a decade, with an annual capacity of 1.9 GWh. In July 2021, AESC announced the construction of AESC’s second Sunderland battery plant, which will be the UK’s largest gigafactory. When operational, it will have a capacity of 15.8 GWh and employ more than 1,000 people. This represents a six-fold increase in UK electric vehicle battery production, according to its website. 𝗘𝗨 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝗺𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴 The EU Commission has announced its approval for two hydrogen projects in Hamburg, marking a significant step towards the city's future energy supply. The Hamburger Energiewerke GmbH in collaboration with Luxcara will receive funds to convert the former Moorburg power plant into an electrolyser for #hydrogen production. Additionally, Gasnetz Hamburg GmbH will receive support for constructing the initial 40 kilometres of the HH-WIN hydrogen distribution network, aimed at supplying the industry with hydrogen. Combined, these projects are set to receive over 250 million euros in funding from the federal government and the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. These initiatives are pivotal for Hamburg's transition to climate neutrality, particularly in enabling large energy consumers to shift away from fossil fuels. The EU's approval underscores Hamburg's commitment to eco-friendly industrial transformation. Both projects are part of the Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) for hydrogen, highlighting their significance in promoting growth, employment, and competitiveness across European industries.
