Through a collaboration between Waterways Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Monaghan County Council (Ireland), we would like to create a shared vision for Clones Marina in partnership with community, business and industry stakeholders. The discussion document, A Vision for Waterside Development, explores ideas and the potential around this regional opportunity for Clones and its new Marina, connecting the waterways network of the River Shannon and Lough Erne with the Greenway network of the Ulster Canal route, placing Clones and its Marina centrally along a unique, active and engaging visitor corridor. The key concepts of this vision are: ⏺ Connecting the proposed Marina with Clones town centre, Monaghan and the wider border region. ⏺ To encourage and support local enterprise and the local economy through complimentary activities. ⏺ To test, develop and promote water-based ideas and activities. ⏺ Attract more visitors to Clones and the wider border region. ⏺ To create a distinctive borderland hub along the wider waterways network. Potential areas of collaboration between #kicc and the #Countygovernments include: ✅ Collaborative bidding for international events involving both national and county-level participation. ✅ Organize forums to raise awareness about #miceindustry, its opportunities, and address existing gaps in #county #tourism. ✅ County Governments' participation in international conferences to foster learning and networking opportunities. ✅ #datamanagement to enhance #enhance #peerlearning, #planning and #decision-making.

In a world teeming with puzzles and challenges, the adage “two heads are better than one” stands as a testament to the power of collaboration. It’s the spark that ignites when two minds converge, each bringing a unique perspective to the table. Imagine a canvas where every stroke of genius is doubled, where ideas dance and intertwine, creating a tapestry of innovation. This saying isn’t just about doubling the intellectual firepower; it’s about the alchemy that happens when two thinkers resonate,(or as Wayne Clarke puts it “clicks”)transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. A coffee-chat with a great view becomes a vision-board with a great purpose. It’s a reminder that when we join forces, the horizon of possibilities expands, and the once insurmountable becomes achievable. Engaging the [Community] Partnership with communities Community engagement exists as a spectrum, and of these, a partnership model is the most challenging. For various reasons: - It requires a lot of trust, which takes a lot of time to build. In collaboration like ours which we have different cultural and social backgrounds, it gets harder to build trust. In our work with Les Village, we are thankful for humble teammates from National University of Singapore and supportive network from Sea Communities to help us bridge the gap. - It takes time, because it would be uncommon for one to pour his/her heart out to a stranger. We don't have much time with the community, because we only see them once a year. We when we so meet them, we really want to spend quality time with them and know them on a personal level. - There is a delicate power balance between partners, and each partnership has different expectations. Some partners would like to be consulted more frequently, and others would like to take a step back. Having someone who knows the community well helps us understand the intricacies of the relationships in the community, truly helps us reduce miscommunication. This post is dedicated to the fishermen in Les Village, that trusted us, gave us their previous time and worked collegially with us since 2015. They guided us on this trip, through the rich discussion on the restoration techniques, teaching us how to make their adhesive, and made sure that we are safe. Their faith in this collaboration is the key ingredient in this community-based restoration project we do at NUS Tropical Marine Science Institute. #community #engagement #marineconservation #restoration #partnership #bali #NUSImpact

I have participated in the 4th Business Forum in Bijelo Polje, the focus of which is on sustainable development, especially in the north of Montenegro, in order to reduce import dependence and emigration of the population, thus contributing to overall economic and social development 🇲🇪 Capital projects are a key driver of the development of our country, especially for the north of Montenegro. The completion of the highway section shows that this road has already integrated 20% of the new traffic. 🚗 🏔️🇲🇪 🏗️🤝🇪🇺 together with the EU institutions, we are working to secure funds for the next section of the highway, both for the preparation of planning documents and for the construction itself when the conditions are created 🛣️ The construction of the aviation park in Berane is a key development project for the northern region. It is necessary to pay attention and create conditions for their realization, because it will significantly affect further development in every sense. ✈️🛣️🏔️ I've highlighted cooperation with the EU for regional connectivity, aimed at modernization and road construction. Initiatives for new roads will connect Montenegro with neighboring countries and enable a faster flow of people and goods, such as the Plav-Dečani road or the Rožaje-Peć tunnel. 🚗🌐🏞️

What leaps will you be doing this year? 🦘 The leap day today sparked a reflection, inspired by Carole Ann Rice yesterday at Nick Blanchard - Zoco Head Honcho's Zoco Networking meeting in Chiswick, on the brave choices we've been avoiding. For me, it's in the picture here. I am studying for my British citizenship "𝐿𝑖𝑓𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑈𝐾" exam. Any of you who've taken the exam may recognise the books, and believe me, there's an amount of dates, names, and facts swirling in my head this time; it's dizzying! But it will be worth it, as I so want an official recognition of my new country's identity and where I belong, and dual citizenship will show right that. How about you?
